But priority also needs to be getting top. We can get far in this if we avoid likes of Bayern. Difference between first and second spot will be massive.

Having both Mendy and Silva at the back can give us lots of confidence with the likes of Emerson, Rudiger, Jorginho, or CHO being thrown in.

Lampard on Havertz and rotation...

‘I hope he is available,’ said the boss. ‘He’s been in for a few days now doing some individual work and he’s looked pretty good.

‘Kai is a naturally fit boy so I hope to have him travelling with us to Rennes and maybe he’ll get some minutes. I’m not sure exactly how many because it was a two-week isolation but he looks in good shape.’

‘I’ll make a decision whether to make changes or not depending on how the recovery looks,’ he added. ‘We have people like Ben Chilwell, who has had a back problem, and players who played a lot of international minutes so we’ll have to see how they are.

‘I have faith in the squad but when I pick the team, I’ll try to pick the strongest team possible with a view to where the freshness and legs are in the group.

'We have five substitutes in the Champions League, which is obviously a big plus for us that we can make decisions during the game as well, but we know it’s going to be a really tough game out there.’

That is so not true. Jose will do full rotation so they will be more rested. But he already outplayed us when they had game two days before and two days after our match.

And people wanting to rest Silva every other game is funny.

Interesting, on the pregame for all of today's CL matches on CBS they were discussing what teams will go deep in the CL this year. All agreed that Chelsea is so loaded with talent at both starting and back up positions they should be expected to go deep and with the rate they are improving, they should not surprise anyone if they win it.

I believe Chelsea has enough talented players to go deep. Fans always worry for their favorite teams so that we are afraid of everything (rest, injury, etc.). We need to test our team's capacity to see if Chelsea can be the champion or not. It is what it is and we have to accept the fact.
