Starting to think that Giroud up front would work wonderful with Werner and Ziyech and even maybe Pulisic/CHO.

We know how good he looks for France with Mbappe and Griezmann. Hoping for something similar here.

Nagelsmann took Werner, Olmo, Nkunku etc off and Leipzig blew a two-goal lead very late on against Dusseldorf and missed out on the chance to pretty much seal their CL qualification...

Will he be cheaper or more expensive if they miss out tho?

Cheaper. There's a 5 million difference according to reports.

So its good that they failed today. But I doubt they will throw it away. It would require Mönchengladbach to win two and RB to collect just one point from the remaining 2 matches

They should have secured it by now but they have dropped silly points at home against Hertha, Paderborn, Freiburg, Dusseldorf since the restart...

We have two young winger, it is such a waste to play diamond.

I was referring to his 433 with Anelka playing out wide, not the diamond formation. But yes, 2 strikers would force us to sacrifice a winger.

On the plus side, it is an option for good squad rotation. Keeps everyone fresh

look at this cunt Ian McGarry

Liverpool could STILL sign Timo Werner despite Chelsea allegedly close to securing the Germany forward's signature.

Speaking on the Transfer Window Podcast, Ian McGarry claims Werner's desire was always to play under Jurgen Klopp, and with the Chelsea talks still ongoing Liverpool may swoop in.

“His preference was always to go to Anfield and play under Jurgen Klopp,” said McGarry. “The fact of the matter is that this isn't a closed deal, and is still ongoing.

“Legally the release clause in his contract has now expired.

“Therefore, if the binding agreement with Chelsea isn't water-tight regarding dates, he could still be free to speak to Liverpool.

“Therefore, a transfer to Liverpool could still be a potential outcome for Timo Werner. That's something I don't think people are taking into account.

“Everyone just assumes he is coming to Chelsea, but in actual fact, there's still the possibility he may move to Liverpool.

“I'm not saying this is the most obvious outcome of this particular transfer saga. However, it's certainly the case that this remains an option.

“It'll be very intriguing to see how this transpires over the coming days.

“As we know, the player himself would be much more keen to move and play under Jurgen Klopp, so it's one of those where we have to hold our breath and see what happens.”

Costs less than 50 million pounds it seems!

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/football/2020/06/18/chelsea-complete-475m-signing-timo-werner/

Chelsea have completed the signing of RB Leipzig forward Timo Werner for £47.5million.

Werner will join the Blues on a five-year contract worth just over £170,000-a-week and will move to England at the end of the Bundelsiga season.

The 24-year-old becomes Chelsea’s second signing ahead of next campaign after Hakim Ziyech, with the club also chasing Bayer Leverkusen winger Kai Havertz and Leicester City left-back Ben Chilwell.

Werner was convinced to join Chelsea by head coach Frank Lampard after he and technical and performance advisor Petr Cech made a pre-lockdown trip to speak with the player, his agent and his family.

Werner has informed Leipzig that he does not want to play in the delayed Champions League for them in August so that he can move to Chelsea as soon as possible and be ready for next season.

His arrival will coincide with the departure of Pedro Rodriguez, who has agreed a free transfer move to Italian club Roma.
