Finally a world class signing and that for not that much of money.

 

Ziyech solves some problems instantly. First he solves our creativity. Secondly, he solves our set piece problem. Thirdly, we finally have a left footed player.

Fourthly, he has a great shot outside the box.

 

It has been a long time since I felt that our Board actually really thought about our signing and what is best for the team

Even though De Jong and De Ligt cost a lot signings from so called weaker league's tend to be a bit cheaper more often than not because there's still the "it's a weaker league" stigma.

There was also an agreement between Ziyech and Ajax that if he'd stay for another season (this season), they'd let him go for a fairly low transfer fee next summer. Ziyech is definitely a bargain at 40m euros, there's no question about it. Ajax are just considering themselves lucky that they had him for so long so they don't seem to mind the low transfer fee too much.

Wonder what's going on in Pedro and maybe Willian's heads right now seeing this signing. They both likely already know they're off. Hopefully Willian doesn't coast for the rest of the season. Probably finally go to Barca on a free.

2nd year in a row that we have done such deals. Pulisic last year, Ziyech this year. Who is next?
