Said it in Lampard thread, I think it's ridiculousness to start 5 defenders against the Saints.

We should not be playing this formation at home against them.

Struggling to get past half against a relegation foddler

What you expect when you have 5 defenders.

It only works for big games, not against smaller team because you leave the team void of creativity with 5 defenders.

Lampard done that in the past, use this template for a big game but then kept it the next game when he should have changed it. Seems like he's done it again...

Lampard said he went with the back 3/5 against Spurs to specifically counter the way they play. So, I really want to know what is his thinking against Southampton, because this formation seems to suggest he's trying to cover up our defensive flaws, which in turn is rather hampering our attacking play.

Conte esq of cowardice

With Conte, you could at least excuse it because it's his fixed way of playing and he made it work (for at least 3/4 of the 2 seasons) but what is Lampard's reason/excuse?

We specifically appointed Lampard to stray away from this philosophy. If the formation isn’t changed in the 2nd half I’ll be genuinely concerned.

Clearly it's working well against Southampton...
