Chelsea and the ‘new boss bounce’

Will Everton experience the ‘bounce’ that – folklore has it – accompanies the dismissal of a coach? On the 17 past occasions Chelsea have faced a freshly-installed coach, or one taking charge of a club in the Premier League for the first time (excluding the competition’s opening exchanges), we have never been beaten.

Three of the encounters ended in a draw, and 14 were victories for the Blues, including each of the past 12, and several brought resounding wins. The latest success was at former midfielder Scott Parker’s Fulham last season.

A loss and a tie to Valencia and a loss to West Ham leaves me wanting for more.

Of course we're going to drop the occasional points to lesser teams, however apart from 15/16 and a couple of months coming to the end of Conte's tenure our record in should win games has been excellent ever since 14/15.

Take last season for example, through all the issues and crowd discontent under Sarri, our record against the bottom half sides was up there with City and Liverpool.

Wait and see these pricks will up their game, if not I will not be surprised if that big screwball Duncan Ferguson batters fuck out of them at fulltime 🤣

One positive though we won't be the worst team at defending set plays on the pitch today, which is something we cant say very often.

Anyway, aye. Must win game. 5-0, 1-0, 2-1, 3-2 whatever just get the result, especially in this period where games are coming thick and fast. No doubt they will be more up for it than they would of been under Silva, whos career has really gone to shit since like 4 months into the season with Watford. Quite gutted they sacked him prior to this game as his team really have been rolled over a lot and look very soft.

Torn about what I would prefer to happen in the Manchester Derby tbf, City lose and we go level on points with a win... United lose and we win we are 11 clear of them... fuck it.
