Just surprized we haven't gone into the Chinese market YET!  Or we ciould buy in Japan in the summer?

There's a reason for that, they don't produce many quality players fit for this level. We could have bought Americans or Chinese much earlier if we'd wanted and crashed their markets, but marketability needs to come with skill, because it counts for little if you sink into mediocrity with these players. Pulisic is an exception after a long time and that's why we have acted decisively, he ticks both boxes. Let's just hope he isn't another Freddy Adu.  :philjones

I hear ya.

Least with Pulisic (and Kepa) its showing 'the board' is open to looking at fresh young wanted talent and dont mind paying for the right ones.

I so hope we are looking at Icardi

Don't think they have ever stopped doing that, which is great. We've been going after talented players for ages now, it's what we do with them after getting them is what is ass. Bakayoko even counts towards that, we bought him for big money thinking he was the next coming of Vieira, but some punts just backfire in your face...

Its the 'Chelsea effect'

We take  supposedly good current players and they get total amnesia.

If we could bottle it we could sell it to some countries secret service for loadsamoney.

Doesn't this speak volumes about the way our board works

Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri makes startling confession that he had no idea £58m winger Christian Pulisic was going to sign for Blues

Maurizio Sarri was asked by club about his opinion of Christian Pulisic last month

He gave 'positive' response but heard no more about progression of deal

Chelsea boss was caught unaware when American was announced

Incredibly, Sarri admitted: 'I didn’t know anything about Pulisic on Tuesday'

https://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-6550589/Chelsea-boss-Maurizio-Sarri-admits-no-idea-58million-Christian-Pulisic-going-sign.html

Well why should he ? He won't be managing him next season ^_^

Tottenham held talks with Christian Pulisic before he joined Chelsea from Borussia Dortmund, according to the London Evening Standard.

Alot of people talking shit about Pulisic. Calling him all kinds of names and basically saying he is destined to fail. ESPN and the panel of old run of the mill footballers preying on a 20 year old lad. Bang out of order.

Pundits are in general idiots with agendas to peddle, i still can't get over the borderline racist rant Merson and Thompson made against Marco Silva when he first arrived from Hull.

Whaat? I haven't seen that. Will have to look that one up though. It makes my blood boil seeing grown men bash youngsters with no sensitivity to their growth as human beings. In the end of the day, when all is said and done... these boys are kids physically and mentally.

Mind you, I do give players stick when they under perform so I guess I am hypocritical to say as such.

Notice how quiet both went when Le Tissier mentioned Pochettino, incidentally another victim to the witch-hunt of foreign managers.

this is what Silva did to Arsenal, at the Emirates, in the CL

Never mind Pochettino, we've had Wenger and Mourinho - two of the biggest foreign managers - who came into the Premier League and blew everyone away! It's beyond stupid that Silva got that kind of reaction from Merson and Thompson. How on earth did Sky not reprimand them or better, kick them out after those xenophobic comments?
