We've only shipped five league goals all season. Unfortunately they all came in the one game against Arsenal! Apart from that it's been ten clean sheets, but our problem has been at the other end. We've dropped eight points in four scoreless draws and those have left us five points behind Arsenal and City, though The Gunners have a game in hand. Boss Emma Hayes conceded the title a few weeks ago but I think there was some psychology at play there.

In recent weeks we've recovered our form, winning nine out of ten games while scoring thirty-three goals and conceding none. In that time we've climbed to third in the table, reached the quarter finals of the League Cup, and more importantly the quarters of The Champions League where we face PSG in March. Before then we begin the defence of The FA Cup we won in front of 45,000 at Wembley in May and have important league fixtures with Arsenal and City. Realistically we probably need to win both matches to maintain any serious hope of defending our title or even achieving a top two finish to secure a place in next season's Champions League.

We've made life hard for ourselves but there's still a lot for the women to play for. If anyone fancies getting down to Kingsmeadow to support our girls you'll be very welcome and will perhaps be surprised by the quality of the football. A reminder that tickets for the next home against Everton on Jan 6th are free but you'll need to go to the website and order them. Get down there if you can.

Something to warm the heart on a cold winter's night: highlights of Chelsea beating Spurs 5-0 on Wednesday.

Ta mate for the precise. It does look like any offence we have/had has dried up.

And tho I've had moments where Luiz has had me spitting blood from biting my tongue so hard it LOOKS at the look around I've had that the guys been pretty stable and steady. Which is good to see. And Rudi also being very good.

Tho it does kinda befuddle me that DEaves not been his usual steady reliable self apart from a game now n then. Any reason why this is or do I read too much into it?

What do you think should be done to stop this? What do you even mean by that terms? I am from post-socialistic Croatia, and BELIEVE ME, you don't want to live like we do, or like we did. We have taxes, we have all the taxes of the world. And we are poor as fuck.
EDIT: We can bring this to some other sub-forum, not to be off-topic. But I am really curious on this subject.

It's very simple: regardless of what country you're from, the benefits of supply-side economics, heavy privatization, and general neo-liberal economics (where too much of policy is formed by industry interests instead of public interest), are short-sighted, short-term. I am not advocating communism; I am advocating for a mixed economy similar to Western Europe or Scandinavia  --and none of that is backwards for a country like the U.S. either. Rather, it is a balanced mixed economy: balancing public interests and corporate interests. It is not backwards because no country on this planet is going to find a sustainable path for its people and ecosystems by pursuing 5 to 9% growth rate with a strong bias toward supply side economics and hyper-consumerism (defined by the 20th century U.S. and Baby Boomers' consumption in particular). The 20th century is still winding down, here, in America too; those big-spending Baby Boomers aren't spending on their households like in the past because they are retired/retiring or don't have any money after the 2008 financial crisis. Replaced by Millenials and Zeds, etc. who don't have an interest in spending big on the dumb shit of yesteryears (many probably do not have the means to spend like Boomer either).

The 21st century is still coming online, but supply-side economics isn't going to make anything great again, nor anything great in Eastern Europe either; this is exactly the culprit for current right wing movements now and left wing movements in the West since the 80s/90s. Sure, you can improve the private industrial output in Croatia with better policy, oriented for pro-business growth, but the benefits will not spread far and wide among your population like the benefits of socialism and subsequent corporatist economics of America after WW2 --that is, IF your new "pro-business" policies are too pro-business (ie. very neo-liberal-oriented), you will not be making your nation greater, but pushing it toward a new era of crises. The big neo-liberal invasion of the post-Soviet Union also spawned the post-KGB Putin now ruling in Moscow.

We can be humanistic without going too far toward communism and still be pro-business --without having strictly corporatist, supply-side economics and being victims of capital flight, privatization of our lands and healthcare and/or victims technological change. Don't be a victim.

Days after Man City & Raheem Sterling, Chelsea fans hold a flag with Nazi symbols in Hungary (Headhunters with a Totenkopf which can be argued is not truly Nazi in many instances, but this is a bad look with us under the cosh)

Chelsea fans hold a flag with Nazi symbols

And now it’s got even worse.

The Guardian on Saturday have flagged up a photo which has been sitting on Twitter for several days.

The picture carried the following citation: MOL Vidi – Chelsea 13.12.2018. Chelsea Headhunters (In Hungary).

As reported by the Guardian:

The photographs reveal a group holding a banner, on which is displayed SS death’s head insignia.

The banner, a modified flag of Northern Ireland that also mentioned Rangers and bore the Loyalist slogan “No surrender”, featured the SS-Totenkopf skull commonly used by neo-Nazis as a reference to the Third Reich’s units who ran extermination camps throughout Europe and the 3rd SS Panzer division.

It’s reported that Chelsea are “aware” of the photo in question.

The club also have records of all fans who bought tickets for the Vidi match.

The Guardian note “it seems likely the group concerned remained in the city centre, out of the club’s jurisdiction, during the game.”

Chelsea are owned by Roman Abramovich, who is not only Jewish but now Israeli.

Chelsea say fans who sang an anti-Semitic chant in the Europa League game with MOL Vidi have "shamed the club".

A vocal minority chanted offensive songs about Tottenham fans early in Thursday's 2-2 draw in Hungary.

That came days after four fans were suspended for allegedly racially abusing Raheem Sterling.

"Anti-Semitism and any kind of racial or religious hatred is abhorrent to this club and the overwhelming majority of our fans," a spokesman said.

"It has no place at Chelsea or in any of our communities."

Uefa said it will await the referee's report before deciding on whether any action will be taken.

Willian and Olivier Giroud scored free-kicks for Chelsea, who had already qualified for the knockout stages, in their draw in Budapest.

"Any individuals that can't summon the brainpower to comprehend this simple message and are found to have shamed the club by used using anti-Semitic or racist words or actions will face the strongest possible action from the club," the spokesman added.

On Wednesday, manager Maurizio Sarri condemned "discrimination in any form" following the alleged racist abuse of Manchester City's Sterling.

Chelsea and the Metropolitan Police are investigating the allegations which occurred during the Blues' 2-0 win on Sunday.

What is the matter with these brain dead morons? This crap has been going on for decades. Do these prats really think players are motivated to play for people behaving like this? Do they expect our squad to be proud of them?

You can't shoot these idiots, so absolute zero tolerance must be applied. Ban any offender for life and let's get MPs to play their part too. Let's create a law under which anyone convicted of racist behaviour in controlled spaces gets added to a register akin to the one for sex offenders. Make this nonsense behaviour start to affect their job prospects. Either that or require season ticket holders and members to pass an IQ test. That'd get rid of most of 'em.

I say in controlled spaces because freedom of speech must be maintained, as long as it is within the law. We just have to accept that there must be a place where idiots are free to say idiotic things. If you enter a football stadium however, you agree to be bound by its regulations. Let's start giving those regulations some teeth.

Just completely fed up with these people.
