Chelsea head to Romania to face competition new-boys Cluj.

On their Champions League bow, the Romanian side beat AS Roma 2-1 in the Stadio Olimpico, and see themselves second in the group behind their opponents; Chelsea. The Blues breezed past the Girondins de Bordeaux and whilst Luiz Felipe Scolari will be cautious with his side's approach to playing Cluj, Chelsea will no doubt be favourites to take early control of the group with three points.

Frank Lampard, Joe Cole, Florent Malouda and Nicolas Anelka got the ball rolling for Chelsea at Stamford Bridge in a 4-0 win. Since the victory over Bordeaux, the Blues have gone on to draw 1-1 with Manchester United and crush Portsmouth 0-4 at Fratton Park, before heading to the midlands to face Stoke City. Cluj showed their determination to impress by coming from behind in Rome to win 2-1, but with 18 goals scored in their opening seven matches of the season, and just three conceded, the Blues look a safe bet for group qualification, even at this early stage.

This will be by no means easy. Whilst no-ones heard of Cluj, they do have a good set of players, with a large amount of Brazilian, Portuguese and Argentinian players. Lars Hirschfeld, Yssouf Kone and Sixto Peralta are players I recognise so they're not a team of nobodies.

Agreed....Roma are no pushovers and they probably took them by surprise, so we shouldnt take it for granted were gonna just turn up and walk away with 3 points. It'll be anything but a stroll in the park.

They've hungry players -always a danger -and will be physical if not going their way. Just hope we dont accrue any more injuries.

Roma got stunned by Cluj, hopefully we have enough quality to be able to take the game to Cluj without getting complacent.
