Contrary to media reports Chelsea is not, and will not be, considering any offers for Joe Cole.

Our sole focus, as is Joe's, is to complete his rehab and get him fit as soon as possible so that he can play a major part in the new season.

Officially confirmed.

Thank God. Nice to know it.

I think that Joe Cole will never be the same, performance wise, since the injury and multiple surgeries he has had could well affect his performance. Plus he could easily get injured again. It happened a couple of weeks ago just as he had 'recovered' from his previous injury.

  • 3 weeks later...
Harry Redknapp’s side had been linked with a move for the England international earlier this summer, but the player has always insisted that he does not want to leave Chelsea.

That does not appear to have deterred the north Londoners, however, with the tabloid claiming that Redknapp is monitoring Cole’s progress as he returns to fitness following a serious knee problem.

The report also claims that Spurs could be willing to bid up to £10 million for the midfielder, who is in the last year of his current contract at Stamford Bridge, with no extension having yet been agreed.

Whilst both Chelsea and Cole have insisted he has a future in west London, the midfielder has not appeared for the Blues since picking up an injury in an FA Cup tie in January.

Although Cole is nearing fitness, he may face a battle to regain his place in the starting XI with Florent Malouda having become a key player for the Blues and Yuri Zhirkov also having joined the club.

Spurs, meanwhile, are thought to be keen to bolster their squad further, having already signed Peter Crouch, Sebastien Bassong , Kyle Naughton and Kyle Walker this summer

Yeah, if Malouda is a defiante first team player, how come he wasn't used in the Sunderland game??

I think Aneclotti is trying out different players in the diamond to test the best midfeilders to use, and i think Joey will be amazing in the top of the dimond and could see him scoring some class goals.
