Things will go one of two ways now i feel.

We will either build on this, take advantage of the kind fixtures between now and the seasons end (bar two games) and consolidate top 4 or these few days are a brief stay of execution and things go downhill again ala AVB post Valencia/City.

dropped points against w.ham, everton, wolves, leicester, southampton, bournemouth,if we had won all 6 of these , we would be top with a game in hand...just saying!

Agree the one difference in circumstances where I hope it isn't a false dawn however is that the last two games have shown some promise that Sarri is prepared to compromise at times to get the result over the performance (something I feel AVB never showed).

I'm actually on the opposite view with AVB, he basically said fuck it and abandoned his style for Valencia/City and reverted to default type. It worked for those two games but ultimately cost him because after those games he couldn't get his message across again and we played like a team trying to do both default style and AVB style and ended up with a disjointed mess that couldn't string two passes together.

We beat and basically dominated Spurs. The first 30 minutes were probably the best 30 minutes of football we have played in the League this season but yet people are still moaning about shots on target.....smh!

Yeah, I don't understand either...

This is not a normal season anymore and it's been a total circus for the past months. Still we've been the better side v City in the Cup Final and now beat Spurs after 120+ minutes of football just three days ago and a heartbreaking penalty shootout. Plus all the negativity surrounding the club after the Kepa incident.

Not a lot of shots of target, but did not concede either against one of Europe's best teams atm and a very good Spurs side.

You can't expect everything to be ok at the club when it is not. Normal people lose their interest in their job as soon as their bosses raise their voice a bit, now imagine football players in this toxic environment at Chelsea for the past months...

Hope we're on the right path again and build on these last two performances.

Ironically I think Kepa disaster helped him. Club fined Kepa which means they supported Sarri on this issue. And now he have more power in the dressing room. We are in good position to achieve our goals this season and if club gives Maurizio what he wants in the summer I'm positive he can work out very well here and give as full transition of style for what was he appointed in the first place.

The last two performances have been encouraging but let's not get carried away just yet because there are still questions that Sarri must "answer" if he's to succeed here long term:

(1) In some ways, it's easy for the players to feel motivated because one game was a cup final while the other was against Spurs AND it's easy to adapt when you have taken a 6-0 and 3-1 thrashings against City and Spurs (fair play to Sarri for adapting his tactics but it is something he should have done 1-2 months ago, not wait till the sack threat or after some very bad thrashings). Question now is whether Sarri can motivate the players and get his tactics right in the coming weeks because we will be facing the lesser sides, who have caused us problems this season. Will Sarri stick with what has worked in the last two games or will he go back to the nonsense we saw before that? Also, what will Sarri do if we fall behind in games? Will he tweak his tactics OR just make like-for-like subs and hope something happens?

(2) His management of youth players. Sarri has been somewhat fortunate that Loftus-Cheek has "given" him an out to not play him often with his back injury. But CHO? He has done well pretty much every time he starts this season and yet, he still doesn't get more minutes that he deserves. Sarri said he considers CHO to be on the same level as Willian/Pedro but we can clearly see where CHO stands in the pecking order. And let's not forget that it was only last week that he took a RB off a RB and didn't bring CHO on when being 2-0 down at home. Whether Sarri likes it or not, the youth players (there are a few more elsewhere) should be part of our future and he needs to be more receptive towards them and use them, especially with the transfer ban looming.

(3). Stop sending out mixed messages. Stop saying A and proceeding to do B. This is something Sarri has continuously done all season and the biggest example is he's always criticized the players for bad mentality after defeats this season but what has he done in the following games? Selected the same players who he criticized. It's time he starts picking players on merit. He made a point by benching Kepa against Spurs. Shouldn't he be doing the same with under-performing players? Otherwise, what's the point of him stamping his authority with incident like the Kepagate?

To be fair to Sarri it's all worked out well, he's been really able to show his authority and show them he will not be fucked around.

I still worry about the whole Alonso/Emerson situation, and his mixed messages are bizarre. He talks up players and the next week they don't even feature.

Its all good for now but the next big drama is only around the corner with this club.

There's any difference to how our play in terms of tactic, movement etc ?

Or actually sarry is right, motivatio aspect actually play so much role, as huge as he said. when player show better mentality, starting to follow his instruction, show stronger will to win, we are not that poor anyway

We pressed lower and tried to move quicker with the ball. There was not much needless lingering on the ball and somebody always made themselves available for the pass, which is something that had been a problem before the last three games. I've definitely seen some tactical adjustments past few games to suit the opponent and our players' conditions (e.g. pressing lower due to fatigue).

Even though Chelsea beat Spurs 2-0 , but the real issue abt Sarri is there. All those saying good words for him are OLD players Luiz, Pedro., Callabera because they are playing.  and Sarri has hiz pet player too, Joghino.  Sarri sidelined young players and there is some sort of 2 divided groups. CHO , Kepa plus others young players against the old. So still , Sarri needs to GO.

You shut up dickhead! Fed up of you assholes trying to cover up cracks and telling me that is fine. Short term yes it’s fine, but long term?
Do you want to see zero/one shot on target football for seasons to come? Is this what we brought in Sarri for?

Might as well bring in Ranieri or Hutton.

Engage your brain for a second, if we only had 1 shot on target and spurs had 0, that tells you what sorta game this was. Poch is supposed to be this amazing manager that plays great football yet his team didn't manage a shot on target against us! a team you constantly downgrade. You had a fit when Alonso started he played well, and hey what do you know we won!!!

And don’t bring Spuds performance in to this. They usually perform better than yesterday and having zero shots on target was out of the norm for them.

Enough now. Stop the personal insults and slagging match.

Rest of the season does not look bad at all. No FA Cup or League Cup either so players should have more time to rest and more time to practice on the training ground. 11 games left in the league, 33 points still available and if we keep up this momentum from last two games and continue to play pragmatically in certain tougher games then we should be expecting somewhere around 25 points from that (7 wins, 4 draws) minus few points if few of those draws turn into defeats. That would be a very good end to this turbulent season. Highest points tally ever needed for top4 position in the Premier League era was 79 points during 2013/14 season, usually it's somewhere around 70 points so that top4 position is still very much within reach.

Why do you always look at the small picture. You are only focusing on one game here, Chelsea having one shot on target yesterday isn't the 1st, 2nd, 3rd or 4th time.

Yesterday. He certainly had shots on target against us this season. Again this is like a one off bad match for Poch. He rarely ends games with zero shots on target. Well done to us though for keeping them quiet.

We've had more shots on target than them in 3 of the 4 games we've played this season. We are averaging 5.1 shots OT in the PL, the same as them. And yet Pochettino is the praised one, whereas Sarri is  the slagged one.
