Not saying we should stay completely locked down until a vaccine is available, but we 100% should be still social distancing for months longer and not meeting whores in hotel rooms. If for no other reason than optics.

The thing with this innocent until proven guilty argument is a little bit more complicated. He cannot win now. Yes, he can win a potential trial, heck, he may even be truly and really innocent. But the damage has been done, the public will remember this. You already mentioned Ronaldo or Kobe. The opposition fans will milk this. Remember the chants aimed at Van Persie? 'She said no, Robin, she said no.' And if he wins a potential trial or the lady will take her words back, there will surely be accusations of him paying big money to her so she shuts up. I don't even think his England career will be over - the club will publicly state some sanction, there will be a fine/some donation to the NHS or something and it'll move on.

You are not wrong about Alonso but he did get the sentence for the drunk driving incident before being bought by the club while CHO is under the club's books with this happening. Somewhat different scenarios. IF he is found guilty, would be interesting to see the club's reaction...
