I think he's certainly within his right to question the mentality of the team as a whole with regards to why we have given away so many leads this season - we're all asking the same questions!!!

He isn't the one who should be shouldering the blame. Been arguably our best CB this year.

Drop our WB's and I wouldn't questions it

Conte can’t seem to take criticism well at all. Wonder if Rüdiger will now get the Luiz treatment.

Seems that way. Shocked Hazard didn't experience the same after the City game.

Antonio Rudiger, 25, says he has "no idea" why he did not play against Southampton, adding that he was "fully fit" for Saturday's match. (Mirror)

Supposedly said in an interview this weekend that it "probably" was due to his comments. He also said he didn't mean to criticize Conte.

The question is, Is it okay for players to criticize the current manager?

Comments like that are an invitation to stay home...

it’s not only disrespectful to the manager, but also to his teammates. It implies hes so much better than the the other cbs in the squad, so if he’s fit he should automatically play.

manager is right in dropping him. Talk it over, but the comments are Not OK.

How were Hazard's comments after the City game not similar & warrant the same action?

Did not hear them, but the same applies. Caveat that the star player is usually managed a bit differently - even his contract can be different than the other players’ (hence why we should be more critical of him not less).

I agree that all players should be punished for questioning a manager's decisions regardless of their standing within the club. Hazard hasn't exactly been in similar form to Salah to warrant otherwise.

Some impressive long diagonals last night. Cahill take note.

If Cahill can't produce the goods after memorizing the notes he joted down whilst playing next to the Great John Terry then he will most certainly never produce the goods. The bloke is a lost cause.

Underrated signing. Mentioned in the match thread, he's done a quiet, impressive job all season.

What a character! I like how fearless he is at everything he does, his attitude and fight in him. Signing of the season.

One of the only signings the club got right recently. Rüdiger 35m, VVD 75m. VVD isn’t twice the player Rüdiger is either, prettt much on a similar level/same tier imo.
