Absolutely tired of this sentence for some reason. We always fucking try and never do shit. This window Tolisso, Sandro, VVD, Bonucci, Morata, Lukaku gone. Bakayoko deal stalling since one month ago, Danilo deal already stalled as well, heard they want 30 we don't want to pay over 28. We're shambles in the market. Pre season already in 4 days, can't wait to see Willy hit those passes from the goal post straight to Bats. Our only hope is Conte having a good eye again on the players and find some decent 3rd options to rejuvenate us.

BS. You sound like a child who only cares about getting new toys.
It is such a silly season thing to do to point to players and say "we could have gotten this player, but our board/ambitions/chief negotiatior/Emanelo just sucks". How the hell do you know who we want, how close we were to get them and whether there was more we could have done?

Tolisso went to Bayern early in the window, one of the most attractice clubs in the world. There is almost no solid info saying that we were close to him, or interested in the first place except for a little gossip around the time Traore signed for Lyon.

We offered 70m euro for Sandro, if that isnt a huge commitment then I do not know what it is. Everyone is creating this scenario where we only started bidding "seriously" after Bonucci was sold, but there have been basically confirmed offers of 60m euro or more for several weeks, so Chelsea tried hard with this deal. It was always going to be an extremely difficult one.

Southampton did absolutely not want to sell VVD, and would only have accepted a grossly inflated price. What is this world where you think that Chelsea can just throw £60-70m on Sandro, £100m on Lukaku, £50-60m on VVD and so on?

Morata, Lukaku and Belotti all have their own problems. They cost(ed) an absolute fortune, and there are risks with all of them. We will likely end up with one of the two remaining or PEA, but they are big transfers that require a lot of work. Lukaku was clearly the main target, but can you blame the club for not wanting to pay £100m?

Bonucci did not want to leave Italy, like seriously how hard is it to understand? You are blaming the club for every single thing when something doesnt go our way.

Bakayoko has been hanging out in London, with Chelsea players, with Conte while the most reliable outlets reporting that he has passed his medical. The delay was caused by a knee injury, is that also Emanelo's fault?

Danilo seems to be in the last stages of negotiation. If Chelsea really wants him, they will pay £5m more, and if they do not it suggests they have a different target in mind.

Like seriously, I am not claiming that Chelsea's transfers have been flawless. I am sure a lot of things could be handled better, but people here just approach this as if it was Football Manager with unlimited funds. My god, I usually look forward to silly season during the normal season, but every year it justs brings out the worst in people.

You guys still here hoping?

Men some faith.

But this was dead in the water weeks ago.

Now is time to move on, just another saga where we can't close top targets, as per usual.....

My preference is Alex Sandro, but if this isn't going to happen, I would hope our next target would be Bertrand.

We need to keep an eye on our homegrown quota to make use of as full a squad as we can. He is one of the only attainable homegrown players that could have a strong impact on our team.

Buy back Ake lol , don't want to have a go at the board but ffs commonsense don't let players go unless you have upgrades in 1st, schoolboy error whatever way this saga pans out.

Well he's not wrong - he is the technical director at Chelsea, one of the biggest clubs in Europe, after all. We're not talking about influence here, we're talking about roles, and what they do.

No his only been a scapegoat for 2 years. The time from when Marina also joined. Coincidence?

From the Chelsea FC site...

Marina Granovskaia

She joined the board of Chelsea FC plc and the Football Club Board in June 2013 and is mainly responsible for player transactions.

Michael Emenalo:

now supports the work of the first team manager, leading the club's international and domestic scouting network, and assists in driving the technical programmes of our Academy and international youth network.

Don't worry about it. @Leif doesn't like facts if it doesn't conform to his argument.

You think Emenalo started being shat on in 2015?

This one hurts too much, I can't believe those idiots wasted so much time with 3-4 bids instead of a straight 70 and get it done. Well done!

Don't think u realise juve didn't wanna let him go at any price. They said he could go if he asked to leave, he didn't ask to leave so they won't sell him. You cannot sit there and blame the club because a player doesn't want to leave.

They would have surely let him go if it was before Bonucci heck even Alves. There is no excuse for this we clearly fucked up even Sandro was reported to wanting to join us.

Chelsea knew from the start this wasn't going to be an easy transfer. In transfers like thais you bid high, early and aggressively over pay the player as well as the club. You certainly don't penny pinch. To be fair think we did all this eaxcept maybe offer Sandro a higher salary.

Fact still remains juve said on many occasions if the player asks to leave he could go 60 65 70 million they have rejected Them all purely because the player hasn't asked to leave. I no your frustrated but this is not chelsea fault.

Player transfers are a lot more complicated than that. Agents, families, personal preferences, third parties, contractual sell-on clauses, paperwork (UK is notorious for this) - and that's just a start. It's not only about money, we're just not as attractive as for example Bayern, Barca, Madrid, it's a fact, unfortunately.
