The losers already had their No Trophieco with Arsenal. They shouldn't be concerned about the top teams' business.

@Fernando MOTD is certainly an option but Goals on Sunday should also be considered. Chris Kamara and Ben Shepard are much more impartial on that show than the pundits on Match of The Day when it comes to us. I'm sure this has something to do with the fact that someone at BBC hates us.

It would certainly explain why Chelsea related incidents are treated differently to that of other clubs. I haven't seen it myself but judging by this post they appear to be up to their old tricks again.

Worst MOTD coverage for sometime - failed to show our chances or the fouls on our players, including Hazard going off for treatment when Fernandinhio did him at start of game. And then they cap it off by a reading of our club statement that omits the most important revelation about the money that totally refutes the media hush money stories. Brompton Road Blue - shed.chelseafc.com

The pessimist in me was proved wrong. I thought Chelsea could not win at the Etihad, not because we're not good enough, but because we're still a work in progress, playing away from home against one of Europe's best clubs.

Lucky a little bit? I think so, yes. But in the end this is a team that recently has beaten Barcelona 3-1 in the same ground and although they were hammered 0-4 in Barcelona, they missed tons of chances at 0-1 down and only lost 0-4 because of that red card IMHO.

To think that City was going to have a quiet game was naive. City was bound to create clear goalscoring chances because they have huge quality up front. There is no team in this world that is going to come to the Etihad and limit City to only one or two shots on target as long as Guardiola is there, playing free flowing football. Them baggers thinking the other way are as much as deluded as Mourinho. And the same ones trolling the comments section the other day, saying Chelsea did not deserve to win.

Glad I was proved wrong. Chelsea now have a superb manager in charge that, if allowed to do his job with no interference from up stairs, is going to transform this club completely. One year ago had anyone told me that in a year time Chelsea is going to go to the Etihad, score three against a Guardiola team, miss another sitter (Hazard), have the full backs bombing forward, always build from the back with no nonsense long balls everytime, I'd have told him he needs his head checked.

Diego Costa MOTM. David Luiz what a transformation.

What a day out! Fuckin Mancs.

One thing that I'm spitting blood about  is Pep. What a cunt. I know a manager has to have his players back - in public anyway - but to say that he didn't blame Aguero just has to be one of the most riiculous things I've heard.

You watch that supposed foul from Luiz early on. Aguero sees that hes lost the challenge and he shoulder barges him then dives off to his left so it looks like it was Luiz.

Aguero is a fuckin psycho.I think what musta happened was before that  1st ridiculous foul a few years back Aguero musta tried chatting Luiz up. Luiz says no Im not into men thanks so Aguero tried to dive into his bum feet first.

Then yesterday he has a couple of Viagra before the game and tried to flying scissor him.

But seriously if I was Agueros manager I'd rip him a new one whoever he was and I'd be ashamed.

Its been said by all of us I know but just imagine if Costa had done it!! But because hes a blue eyed boy for some bloody reason and Shitty are the medias white hats of football aslong with the Dippers it will be turned around to be our fault.

Just watching MOTD2 and of course theyve said Shitty this Shitty that, great team, shoulda won, made more chances, had more oposession, have better players, Chelsea were lucky and just took their chances better. I really don't know why I'm suprized.

Sorry - rant over. Just got  in. lol

Our guys wanted it more than City and our fitness spoke volumes in the last 29 minutes.Hazard, William and Costa left their defence in their wake every time they ran at them. A fully deserved victory for the "never give up attitude" our guys showed.

Oh and Kevin De Bruyne..........Still one of us.......Superb miss from 4 yards to finish the game for them :yay:

But I was suprized (and pleased) to not see Yayat on the pitch. I didn't see this at the game but just see it now. Bloody weird eh. Soime sort of power play going on?

But it doesn't have to be mutually exclusive.

Pep had Conte figured out. 55% of their attacks came down Alonso's half, KDB/Navas were having supreme joy whipping balls in for that flank. And in the 2nd hald Silva joined that side too, where they simply overloaded our lef-side, creating chance after chance after chance.

Pep can't finish for the team too. He clrrectly identified our weakness but City failed to convert those 2 KDB chances.

We also didn't help ourselves by giving the ball away so cheaply as well in that second half, but that was also a result of their pressing somewhat imo.

All im trying to say, is that while we were the more clinical team on the day ( 3 shots on target, 3 goals). If you play that exact game 10 times, im sure more often than not, we'd walk away with a loss. But that doesn't matter right now, because, WE'RE TOP OF THE LEAGUUEEEEEEEE

They were better. They should've won. But they didn't. Every once in a while a win like that beats a trashing.

Especially when they lose control in the end. So sensitive. Hope City stacked up on tissues, tampons, Taylor Swift albums and romantic comedies.

As for Aguero. They should lock him up.

I'm going to disagree with both in general, although you have a few points among the two of you I agree with.

I started watching around mark 60 and of course I can only talk about from that on, but when your team scores from a deflected ball and that's all, it doesn't show strict dominance. IT either shows you didn't capitalize and that is a flaw or the other team neutralized your attempts, allowing them to happen, but not allowing them to be indeed dangerous.

Even with Kevin missing a crucial sitter that would have taken them 2x0 who's to say what would have happened? We won with a 2 goals lead. People saying we would lose can't know that for sure the same way I'm positive they couldn't say for sure at that very moment when he missed we would win 1x3.

Fact remains we are deadly, we are incredibly efficient and our defense got their shit back together after two shaking displays (based on the minutes I watched, sure). We give teams the ball most matches, and a shallow analysis would say they control the game, but in reality we are still very much in control, just because you are allowing yourself to be under attack it doesn't mean you're being controlled if you can still prevent anything major to come from that attack volume. When you have your defense well posted and things working as they should, you may not have the ball, you may suffer pressure, but you are still in control if you prevent them from creating clear chances of goals or scoring. It's a difficult kind to control to grasp because you give opposition the sense of control, but in fact everything was still under control... ours, not City's.

Many times in the 36 minutes I watched I saw them struggling to break our lines. Everyone in real blue was doing what they were supposed to and then we shone brighter than ever.

Every time we had a counter I was giddy. Willian wasted at least 3 deadly counter attacks with bad decisions (shooting some nonsense out of the box, moving - or rather staying static in a perfect through ball I guess by Costa, and dribbling when he should have been directed and passed the ball to Diego - I guess). Even then every time we got the ball in counter attack in the second we were seriously dangerous. How can you tell that's not controlling the game? What is control anyway?

What's the point of having possession, of pressuring the opponent if you don't create dangerous chances? Did City create chances? Of course they did and two of them were dangerous - Aguero's shot that Courtois defended and Kevin's sitter. We were dangerous in at least twice more  - the three goals scored and at least one of the counters wasted by Willian (the through ball he didn't follow). So who controlled who?

We allowed the illusion of control to them, the same way we did to other teams, but when things got thick we just went there and showed our new true colors. This team has everything figured out. We could always have an off day and drop points, but last week I said when we were being dominated by Spurs (that I agree, we were dominated for nearly 40 minutes, but yesterday was nothing like that) that we were going to turn that around, partly because it's Spurs, they won't beat us at the Bridge, but mainly because I trust this team to find solutions when things get difficult. That was my biggest concern a month ago when were beating everybody and their mothers because we took early leads. But now we came back against two of the top 5 teams, showing calm, control and precision. That's, my friends, it's the very definition of control.

Yesterday I arrived and saw us losing and my first comment on Facebook was about us turning things around. I'm no prophet, I'm just confident in this team. One day they will come short, but most days they won't and they will just grind the result we need. City were never as dangerous as we were and the scoreline reflects just that.

Nah I hear exactly what your saying Barbs. And I agree entirely with this part right here. What Conte has drilled very well into this team is how to control space, and everything you highlighted here speaks exactly to that.

I still remember a comment that Sounes once made about how at times he would played against Italian team in the past, dominate position and still lose. And he be like, how did they lose that game?

And this is what it feels like, when Willian scored the second I couldn't believe it. I was like how the heck we are doing this?

It was totally an Italian Job. :)

I see luck everywhere, but... How about City being lucky that Cahill scored one of the dumbest own goals ever?

Man City created probably 4/5 good goal scoring chances whilst we created 3/4. We were clinical. They weren't. Nothing lucky about it imo.

We were lucky. If De Bruyne scored that chance we would of got beaten, no doubts about it, if that same chance is created 10 times he scores it 9 times. Also the shot Courtois saved, he would of probably scored that earlier in the season when he was in terrific form.

Fair enough their goal was a lucky one but they really had earned that luck due to how they pinned us in, created opportunities to cross and how much possession they had in our half. If we went in at 0-0 we would of been fortunate and deservedly so they went in with the lead. We were clinical no doubt about it, 15 minutes changed the game for us, it was the same against Spurs just a 15-20 minute spell in the game where we had 2 chances and scored both but again we were lucky they didn't get the second goal because then it's a different proposition altogether. I wouldn't say we looked convincing enough defensively in those games, if Luiz didn't play v City we would of struggled because he bailed us out and against Spurs first half whole back 3 and both wing backs were awful in defensive actions.

Its not a bad thing to be lucky in big games but I believe that these things will even out in the season eventually, I'd hate to see us go 2-0 down to a team like Spurs, Arsenal or City because we wouldn't come back from it. Also there will be moments where we won't be as clinical which we have seen plenty of in previous seasons.

The whole lucky point was made regarding people saying/articles saying we had been magnificent, brilliant, etc more than anything, our counter attacks were lethal but still there is a huge amount to improve on based on two first halves of football against two top teams, Spurs and City because we won't get that luck every match in a season. De Bruyne was getting a huge amount of room in a position between Alonso and Hazard on the pitch and Navas and Sane had exposed our wing backs at times. This is a blueprint along with Spurs' pressing that could be copied and give us issues in the future, I still think we'd struggle against Liverpool or perhaps Arsenal with this system for instance, just because we are top of the league it means nothing yet as this team is still a work in progress and on another day it would of finished differently in both the Spurs and City games. I think people are getting too carried away, we've clicked sooner than City (who I still reckon are favourites) but I still think we might come undone with a few injuries and not getting that rub of the green like we've gotten in certain instances in games.

The one thing that has impressed me though is Conte has seen the way games are going and has managed to change them like the game against Spurs and City. The difference in the first 45 minutes to the second 45 minutes is hugely noticeable but games can be done in the first 45 minutes (Arsenal for instance).

Classless prick. He's going down the same route as Jose filled with hate and bitterness, his glory days are over and he cannot handle it. So can't his players.

Apparently he also went first to the press before Conte, which made Conte leave without doing a proper press conference as he would've missed his train had he waited for Pep to finish. Usually the home manager lets the away manager speak to the press first exactly to avoid stuff like this, but Pep didn't care. (source: http://weaintgotnohistory.sbnation.com/2016/12/3/13829362/manchester-city-chelsea-conte-manager-post-match-reaction)
It's exactly like everything else he does, he tries to make people believe that he is a great person, but that deep down that is all fake.
He is often disrespectful, but manages to keep it down to stuff people won't notice or talk about, like refusing to shake Fabregas' hand or going first to the press.
