N'Golo Kante

No doubt about it, Kante Fabregas and Hazard have been Chelsea's best players this season, bar none. But I still feel bad for Kante.

Kante's being forced to watch an inferior footballer in Bakayoko by playing as a B2B CM when that should be Kante's position. In the limited times Kante's been allowed to play as a B2B CM this season, I've been very impressed with the additions to his game Kante has added in terms of making smarter decisions in the final third.

Disagree with the second part. Despite improvements Kante is still quite limited when it comes to the final third and really isn't an ideal fit for a more advanced role.

Besides i feel the central role he's playing now suits him best. Normally the central player in a 3 man midfield acts as the holding player but for us ,due to our midfield being flat, it's actually the outside midfielder furthest away from the ball that acts as the holding player.

This allows Kante to get stuck in all the time as he never really has to hold his position. He can always provide close support on both sides.

Kante and Fabregas are playing in their best position. I think now along with better wingbacks we should be on the lookout for a 3rd midfielder. Bit of a mixture between Kante and Fabregas. Someone who combines their 2 skill sets together (obviously not as good )

Someone capable of providing a creative spark in the final third and linking up with Hazard Morata Fabregas while being able to defend well, cover a good amount of ground and help Kante out on the defensive side.

Saul from Atletico would be the ideal player for this role IMO.

Terrible in an advanced role, but you know what. He tried out there today, which is more than you can say for the mast majority of the side out there.

You can't say terrible when he laid on a superb chance for Morata. Still much more useful than Bakayoko on either end.

That had a lot to do with the fact that West Ham were allowing him time on the ball.

Let's face it when Kante's is expected to create something isn't right.

Well bakayoko is absolutely useless so him being more useful than him isnt saying much.

I think terrible by his standards is what I meant.

In games like the one we had against Everton, I think Kante should be benched, because even with all his defensive abilities and work rate, he just isn't good enough while attacking, so when the opposition is sitting back, why not bring on someone more suited to attacking

And who would you suggest anyway? We only have Fabregas as our creative midfielder. Playing Kante is not the issue. Playing Bakayoko/Drinkwater along with Kante in a midfield 2 when the plan is to dominate is the issue.

Yet again it all comes down to the transfer market, we sorely need to get some work done in January if we want our season to be going in the right direction.

Dont know why we aren't making a bigger deal about this?

Eden has been made Belgian DOTY but I bet more fuss will be made of him.Not confusing that with POTY

But considering the players he beat......

Pogba,Griezman,Varane,Lloris,Benzema,Matuidi,Mbappe......
