It REALLY isn't about 22K which for JT or the club is nothing. The fact that the legend who has led this club to almost ALL of its trophies in history, the player who personifies this club arguably more than any other man in blue ever did, one of the last remaining ties from within the club to the fan base, is having to rent out the bridge to throw himself a farewell match is beyond fucking disgraceful.

Fully agree with that Choulo. He definitely deserves a big testimonial where the fans can say proper goodbye.

Might be a stupid question but is there any chance that they 're waiting until he completely retires from football to do a proper testimonial ?

He's not the player he was last season, (the same can be said for the whole squad bar Willian) but  rather him starting at CB next year than Cahill or Ivanovic. Plus Zouma looks like he won't be ready for the start of the season, and will he ever come back the same player? I really hope so.

Nobody can tell me that JT has nothing to offer CFC or the squad next season. If we release him, most of the premier league would want him on a free for a year. This season - we've got a team basically full of cunts, with no commitment, bollocks or leaders in, to throw away one of the best captains chelsea and England has ever seen would be madness. He even feels he's got at least 2 years left in him. We haven't got European football either next year, so it's not as if we'd need him to play every 3 days. I would like a top CB signed this summer, JT, Zouma and Cahill as our 4 CB's next season.

Money has fuck all to do with it. We can apparently afford 150k a week to the likes of Falcao whilst also getting Pato over for half a season when clearly unfit for most of it. We also see the likes of Cahill and Ivanovic getting new deals, when they've been at fault for more goals this year than JT.

It seems like the club want him out and have done for a while. Pretty obvious he'd have been gone by now if it wasn't for Jose.

Whatever happens, JT has been one of the most important players ever in the history of this football club, 2 decades of incredible service and deserves to leave the right way and get a huge send off. The club need to sort it out, and their apparent fear of any employee becoming too much of a legend. How the club deals with the departures of these legends like JT, Lamps etc is embarassing. It's something the club has got to sort out and get right.

I'd say about as much chance as him getting a new contract for next season. They'd probably treat it similarly too; meaning they won't say that they won't  and they'd imply that they might and eventually they won't and everyone knows that they won't.

Same happened with Frank (who admittedly didn't exactly cover himself in glory in the manner in which he left). The club hinted that they might wait for him to retire to arrange a testimonial, but do you really think they will if he comes out tomorrow and says that this will be his last season playing football? Unlikely to say the least...

John Terry has been summoned to a meeting with Roman Abramovich’s key aides this week to resolve his future. #cfc [Times]

It appears Chelsea have taken a u-turn on Terry, with the defender set to meet Marina Granovskaia & Michael Emenalo this week. #cfc [Times]

"Let's wait to see what happens in the upcoming days. It's difficult to make a comment, of course John is in contact every day with us. He has made such a long career that the fans appreciate him highly, but we will see regarding his near future, let's wait a bit."

"There was a contact today but because I am focused on the game I've not heard the results of that. Hopefully both are wise parties and let's hope for the best. It's difficult for me to say what direction it's going."
