Form the youtube clip he seems like a handy young defender. I have a feeling the club went for the cheap John Stones alternative..

Therein lies the problem. Rather than buying the real deal we instead go cheap.

Another Emenalo signing I would think just like Djilobodji. It's like he's trying to prove that he's so smart by signing unknown players in hopes that he later looks like a genius if they work out.

You do know we have a whole network of scouts, right?

no, you can't judge players based off highlight videos, but it'll give you an idea of what they do.

Oh wow, a defender who actually engages the opponent and is pro-active.

Meanwhile, Cahill is moonwalking into the stands.

From all our supposed transfer targets this Jan, the videos of this guy excites me the most...

Yes, youtube clips will never tell you whether they will be a hit or a flop....but it gives you an idea about their approach and style. And for his pro-active style of defending alone, he warrants a place in the squad.

Like Styles said,..too many MJ impersonators in our back line.,

Anyone seen him play regularly in the MLS to comment on his potential to make the first team? Or this one of the sign a young player and make profit a few years later kind of deals?

He is genuinely the American John Stones. Strong, tall, sort of thin frame who is proactive, likes to be on the ball and has the potential to be captain for their NT. He had a fantastic season in a team that was thought to be rebuilding after the departures of Henry and Tim Cahill and the new coach going with a youth movement. He's only had 1 great season though, and part of the praise is certainly him exceeding expectations.  People who are comparing him to Hector and Papy are just bitter about the board's recent decisions with no logic being applied.

His potential to make the first team? What youngster has been bled into the team in the last 10-15 years? Mikel? Zouma if he stays on track? That's about it. As much as I'd love to see an American in the Chelsea XI, I'll still side with the Vitesse/Championship loans before he gets sold to Reading.

This dude Papy&Hector put them altogether and we may have a CB! Where does Kalas&Christensen fit in ? In the board we must trust ffs.

Miazga is a much better prospect than any of those players. Get a clue.

What makes you so sure?

I haven't seen him play to make a judgement, but I doubt anyone outside of the USA has. YouTube highlight reels aren't "watching someone".
