Yes, this is a good thing because they are the last champions," he said. "It is good that you got the feeling that Chelsea was maybe a small team and that Tottenham can win every game that we play.

I think it is a good thing that maybe you are a bigger club than Chelsea or that we deserved more. read more http://www.skysports.com/football/news/11675/10084124/tottenham-deserved-more-from-chelsea-draw-says-mauricio-pochettino

yeah draws gonna help us make up the 12 points gap. these games are absolute must wins now

There's not some switch you can turn on to get out of a mess like this. Improvement will be gradual and it will take a while.

Our situation is what it is. Deal with it. Besides, an in form Chelsea could have lost at WHL.

At least 11 points from the next 5 games would be a great step forward.

Great point, yes we needed 3 but you have to look at where we were and where Spurs is in terms of form.

We are recovering from the disastrous start, you can't expect a patient to run immediately after a big injury, you do it step by step, and we are recovering slowly but surely:

* 3 Clean sheets in a row, our first clean sheet in an EPL away game - this against the most in form team

and this with Ivanovic and Cesc in the team, and without Ramires and JT.

* Defense was solid: the clean sheet isn't a ''Tibo safe us'' clean sheet, we weren't outplayed at all. We pressed well and were compact.

* Hazard and Pedro looked great, looking forward to the next games.

Another manager dissing Chelsea for playing as a small team. Which is right thing to say really. We're playing like a small team regularly. I nearly forget that Chelsea has 5th highest budget in the world ...

I hate football now. Match was beyond terrible for me. Rigid, turgid, dull, unwatchable. Funny thing that with bit of luck on set piece or if we had more individual quality (Suarez, Neymar) we could have won it. Straight from Mourinho textbook this game. Make this as unwatchable as possible and maybe score some retard goal ala last game against Spurs at Wembley.

It's not how football should be played. Not by big team. I'm very, VERY disappointed. When this nightmare ends ?

Wow we actually had 1 shot on target. Playing with no striker and no attacking full-backs that's great. We're improving.

But tbh we're hitting the wall in our 'improvement'. Can't you see that we're playing things the same way over and over again for over 2 years ? Rigid football, looking for situation to break ? Even if the situations do come off and we luckily win it isn't how we should play. Always in submission against decent opponent but yeah why should we care that this further enhance opinion about Chelsea ruining football and playing like a small team. We were reaping benefits last season from this but everyone who thinks could see that it can't last longer but yeah we try to play the same but this time we're not scoring those lucky goals.

Why are we pretending we're big club ? Hate football now. See you in a week or so.

Disgrace! Are we Norwich? We need 3 points every week, but nah, we are happy with 1 point against a team which could be our rivals for a top 6 place, if we want to get there of course, but I don't think we will be even in top 10 if we don't start playing for the maximum points. Can't believe whats happening with our club..........

... And thats all because we have a blind manager. Nothing to be proud of or happy after this game.

You are right brother. We should all be very sad after this game. In fact, it would have been better if we lost another 5 - 3, at least that would be entertaining. How many fans will prefer a draw to a loss against a team that only lost by an own goal this season? No one!!!

I even expect the team to jump from being terrible to fantastic overnight. Who needs clean sheets after conceding 23 goals in 13 games.

Just like you are, I think I'm one of the most realistic fans around here. Or am I not?

Posted this in the pre-match thread and it turned out to be right again.

Here's something interesting - recent history suggests that we get a better result at Spurs when in bad form (results + performances) rather than good.

Good performance, made the most in form team in the league (maybe joint with Leicester) look completely toothless. Wasn't overly happy with 1 point as it doesn't help our league position much but it's a clean sheet, a tough game out of the way, 2 games unbeaten and the performance itself was good.

Hazard was outstanding and it took an absolute worldy save from Lloris to keep him out and he should have scored earlier in the game too. Willian was good once again, Fabregas was good too (really don't know why people are criticizing, that's the best he's played in ages, but I guess jumping on the bandwagon is easy), defence was solid (even Ivan, holy shit!) and Matic is back to his old marauding self. Costa is a child. But we all knew that already, what a horrible attitude to being dropped.

Moaners are going to moan, regardless, and the whining in this thread was as predictable as it was hilarious but for me that was a decent performance and shows we're going in the right direction. There was only 1 team that were going to win that game and it wasn't the team in white. We had 2 glorious chances for Hazard I mentioned before and they were deffo the best chances of the game.

Our next 5 games are Bournemouth (H), Porto (H), Leicester (A), Sunderland (H), Watford (H). Keep your chin up people, hopefully we can get 10 points or so out of our next 4 league games, beat Porto and then everything will be looking quite rosy. We'd qualify top of our CL group and would be in about 7th in the table going in to christmas. Hopefully the players can start bringing the finishing touches to their play.

4 of our next 5 games are at home, and 3 of those 4 are in the league against Bournemouth, Sunderland and Watford. Just got back-agree with Viper above.

Zouma and Cahill solid at the back, and Begovich has been superb all season, very hard to drop, Courtois can reaquaint himself with bench.

Fabregas was stoned or hungover or something, and Costa had better change his attitude or can do one as far as I am concerned.

Another clean sheet, and spuds fans are utter cunts

Lol little harsh :)

The reality is we were shite.

Both their full backs had yellow cards in the first half and their other CB picked up one in the second half. Instead of running at them and trying to draw a foul ( which would have happened ) we just pumped long aimless balls forward to Hazard, who to be fair should be applauded for winning quite a few headers. However, it was a tactically 'naive' situation.

We should have had them under much more pressure

I guess those praising the clean sheet have a point, it is an improvement - but for me it's not, goals win games and again today (apart from one amazing save) we rarely looked like scoring from open play - this was exactly the same as post Jan last season, compact and not conceding but ultimately shit going forward :(

I don't get the harshness on Cesc, he did OK today - for me MOTM was Begovic - some great saves to deny Spuds.

I think it's all been said before - but our attacking play needs work - we just cannot even do the basics properly, always looking for the 'safe' ball instead of trying to penetrate... This is down to attacking shape and movement - something we lack.

It seems we can either defend as a team and not score, or try to attack and not score, but lose. It's a head scratcher, that must originate from the training pitch.

As for Costa - don't mind him being pissed off TBH - he could easily have come on instead of Kenedy or RLC and we could have tried to win the match, but we didn't and he got pissed off. To me that's fair - a player thst wants to win vs a manager that's scared to lose (despite becoming a specialist of late)...
