Great result! Game lacked in intensity, but we took care of business and could have won 6-0 or 7-0 if we were on top of it in the box. Nonetheless, great to win and control the game. Willian is King of the set pieces! I saw most of the game but I missed the Terry injury. What and how bad was it?

Dynamo's win changes things a bit. If they would have drawn or lost, we would be through to the Knockout Stage.

Instead, we must draw vs Porto to get through the group (as second place of the group) OR we must win vs Porto to win the group. A loss and it is off to the Europa League (oh, the joy). This assumes a victory by Dynamo over Maccabi Tel Aviv, which I think we all would agree here is a lock.

Come on you Chelsea!! :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

Nervous all the way untill the Willian magic, we really can't make it easy for ourselves. Hazard wasn't very good at all, he doesn't take the initiative that he should as the teams "star player", he needs to start dominating matches and lead the way when we are struggling to brake through. Brilliant game by Baba though, very solid both defensively and offensively.

Ok so if we draw with Porto and Dinamo beat Maccabi the scenario will be as follows...

All 3 teams with 11 points and 5 in between. So the next untying rule would be goal difference and ours is better than Porto and Dinamo by 5 goals, which means we would probably finish first. We would only finish second if Kiev scores 5 more goals than Tel Aviv (which is unlikely).

Its not THAT bad. We just need to make sure we dont lose at home!

EDIT: Ok so its GD only between the teams in question so our two 4-0 wins against Maccabi doesnt count. Sorry.

wellthere we go....before the match it seemed as if we would need to beat Porto to be top of the group....now we only need a draw

i'd rather have to beat porto, more likely to sit back now

Expected win but also a good, assured, confident performance. The result in Porto of course causes unnecessary drama. but we are through with everything but a loss and we always should look to not losing at home. We actually showed some great interplay, sometimes too complicated and should just have shot inside the box and in turn wasted some opportniites with unnecessary shots from outside of it. hope we get this mixture right vs Tottenham.

Very good performance and result. Confidence is there. We need draw against Porto to go through as a leader.

I think if we draw vs Porto, and given a Dynamo win over MTA, the group rankings go through the tiebreaker process since all three would have 11 points and we would be second not first.

First tiebreaker for rankings in the group is total points vs all teams tied, and each of the three would have five points vs each other only so on to tiebreaker number 2, which is goal differential among tied teams in games against each other only, which would leave Dynamo +1, Chelsea 0 and Porto -1, thus second place for Chelsea.

We beat Porto and on to knockout stage as group winner. :yay:

Worst possible scenario in that Porto vs Dynamo match..

Drama will always prevail at Chelsea, ALWAYS!

2011/2012 season scenario all over again, if it means we will win the damn cup again i will take it lol , but seriously now, it's still in our own hands, if the team farks this up, they only have themselves to blame really, all this could have been avoided if we had won in Kiev, all those wasted chances, just typical. Damn, it's never easy for Chelsea is it? always twists and drama until the end. The team nerve and resilence is being put to the test by football Gods really. Cheers

Isn't the second tiebreaker in this scenario goal differential in GAMES PLAYED AGAINST TIED TEAMS only? I believe this correct and would result in Dynamo +1, Chelsea 0 and Porto -1.
