And he had the guts to call Arsene Wenger a specialist in Failure, he is the failure for failing to fix our scoring problems and set piece problems all season. His not won anything in 2 years by the way

In the league with Barcelona and Messi? how could this be?

1. How you would call 8 years without winning anything then?

2. Fixing our scoring problems meaning getting someone up their who can score. Unless you suggest Mourinho goes on he pitch and does it himself

3. Technically, he's won a trophy last season by the way

Signing Cavani or Costa is not magically going to improve our build up play, ability to break down packed defenses, decision making in the final third and crossing.

No, but it gives the defenders something to think about. It would put them under pressure, drag them out of position, keep them honest, not allow them to cheat up, not give them such an easy ride....

I just don't see how people can't see that the lack of a proper striker compresses the space because defences push up and don't have to worry about balls behind. Eto'o at least provides interplay options and makes the right runs (even if his body doesn't quite allow him to reach the ball).

Case in point - Azpi plays the ball right across the six yard box on Saturday and Torres simply doesn't make the run 99% of strikers run. As for Ancelotti, he was the guy who gave his blessing to sign Torres so easy on the praise when it comes to his magical ability to make strikers work.

As much as I agree with the point of this post, let's not kid ourselves that Ancelotti had anything to do with the transfer of Torres from Liverpool to Chelsea football club. That was Romans Mafia flexing our power at a time when we were the current 'money bags' of the scene.

I don't know why I remember this play clearly, but in the second half Ivan was released on the wing and delivered a cross. It was a poor one to be fair. But just just before he delivered it, the camera angle was wide enough to capture all our players in the box. Willian was running in, Hazard running in, Torres ( being fresh and should have the flair to change things) was walking. Don't know the defender that was with him, but he didn't seem worried.

Let´s be honest here. Does it make sense to play Schurrle in the quarterfinals of the CL?

Why experiment now?

The damage was done last night, Jose has so little trust in his strikers, publicly yaps about it, Ferda is increasingly becoming the scapegoat of choice & now even JT & the defense is starting to look unusually flaky. JT was badly at fault on the first goal, Luiz own goal, Pastore wriggled clear of Azpi, then eluded Frank & Cech did not cover properly.

Jose talks bullshit now. Describing it as ridiculous, a joke..

So what´s next? Another pathetic display on Saturday?

It's pretty well known that Ancelotti pushed for the Torres transfer.

The problem I have with Mourinho is that he's a hard to beat coach and when the opposition is doing the same thing, it often results in very ugly matches.

And he's for me a two three years max coach as his style of play must be exhausting for the players and where there is little enjoyement for the players. It can only last till he reaches a breaking point.

He just doesn't seem to have a plan B at the minute. He seems to have given up on this season, it'll be interesting to see what happens come the summer.

Of course there's a plan b. Plan B is to counter-attack at 300mph instead of plan A's 200mph.

Tactical genius. :worship:

So who do you want instead of Mourinho? You're clearly done supporting him, so who is at the top of your list to replace him?

I think the problem is that Plan A is tough to get right without the right guys. The lack of a striker is becoming more obvious as the season goes on and when you're then missing your best midfielder on European nights then you're playing with your hands tied.

There is no one who doubts Jose as the tactician, but when I look at this season so far, I am seeing, Oscar just about burnt, flaky defense, BA sits on the bench, Torres shut totally, half the team seems tired already, meanwhile Jose talks about little horses, not good enough to win the PL...on & on...

To be fair to Styles, he didn't want Mourinho in to begin with, I vividly remember that.

Personally I feel like today was more on the players, lacked passion or any effort in the final third in the second half - Mou tried to kill the tie off by bringing on a fraud "striker" but because we decided to stop our high press game in the second half (whether this was Mou's instructions or not I don't know, looked more like a lack of desire from the players) our whole game plan went out the window, and because there was a general lack of effort around the whole team we conceded two very bizarre and sloppy goals.

The only thing I like about the result is that we now have to go at them at The Bridge, which we should've done in the second half but there's nothing to lose now.
