Whilst football fans are enjoying the start to the new domestic campaign, it may have slipped the minds of a few that we are now well under a year away from the European Championships in France, and it is time to start looking at the Chelsea players who could be key performers at the tournament.

BELGIUM have had a fantastic rise up the FIFA rankings over the last ten years and find themselves going into the tournament as the bookies fourth favourites to win the whole thing, and it’s easy to see why when you take a look at the strength in their squad.

Eden Hazard has been a massive player for the Blues over the past few years, pitching in with goals and assists aplenty. He has had a quiet start to the season, but once he bursts into life you can be sure he will start getting his name on the score sheet regularly – and he will certainly aim to take his Premier League form towards the end of the season into the Euro’s.

Thibaut Courtois, also on Belgium’s books, is the countries number one – and will almost certainly be when the Euro’s start. The inconsistent start to this season should hopefully be over after Saturday’s win against Arsenal, and with that we should hopefully see more clean sheets for Courtois.

All eyes are on Euro 2016, and in particular SPAIN’s performances will be under scrutiny. The period of dominance over the past ten years looks to be over to an extent, but with the squad they posses they will still pose a threat to any nation. According the sports bookmaker Coral, the Spanish side will go into the tournament as the third favourites at 6/1, which are quite generous odds at this stage.

Assist king Cesc Fabregas will almost certainly play some part in the tournament, as will Pedro you’d assume – but Cesar Azpilicueta will have to fight it out with Jordi Alba for a position in the starting line-up. Up front, former Brazilian international Diego Costa will be fighting out for his spot too.

Gary Cahill will be at the heart of the English defence for the tournament, unless an unfortunate injury was to rule him out. Ever present in the ENGLAND side during the qualification campaign, Cahill has been a reliable player every time he’s played for his country. The Chelsea centre half will be keen on improving England’s odds of winning the tournament, with the bookies seeing the Three Lions as 11/1 fifth favourites.

For the Euro 2016 hosts, Chelsea will have two players likely to make the FRANCE squad. Kurt Zouma has impressed when called upon in the Blues defence, and he will certainly be looking to add to his single cap for the French at the tournament. Loic Remy always seems to do the business when called upon, but he hasn’t been called up by his nation since mid-October 2014 – so will be hoping to make an impact on the Chelsea squad before the seasons end to aid his chances of making the squad.

Branislav Ivanovic and Nemanja Matic would have been expected to help their nation Serbia make the finals, but the Serbs have endured a nightmare qualification campaign and are out.

The Euro’s start on the 10th June and will run through until the 11th July, with the opening match being held at the Stade De France.

I can see france winning or having a deep run in the competition, they have quality everywhere on the pitch and if set up correctly i can see them conceding very little, they've the best defence in the tournament, just look at Varane, Laporte, Zouma.
Belgium will probably have an uninspired run, they don't have a team but a bunch of individuals and a poor manager, if they win it only means the other teams have been extremely poor.
Germany won't win it, they've been in the latter stages of every international competition for the last 10 years or so, they've won a world cup and i don't think they're hungry enough.
Spain situation is interesting, they'll be eager to prove themselves after the world cup fiasco but for me they're a big question mark.
Italy will be guided to glory by Pirlo and Buffon on crutches, some pundits will wake up from their cryo-sleep to moan about how we need to develop young italian players in a dying serie a, followed by internal fights and pointing fingers to one another with no one taking blame, all of that leading to the sacking of Conte and appointing Ancelotti or Mancini as the new manager. Rinse and repeat for the next world cup.

England have had no serious matches in a while now and i didn't follow them, will look forward to some Hodgson magic right there.
Personally? I'm looking forward to a shock winner such a Denmark 92 and Greece 04
Iceland,Croatia or Switzerland would be nice.
