It'll be interesting to see what happens tomorrow now. I guess the club could tell Conte to hold off tomorrow and get some of the club coaches to take training, the first couple of days at least will likely mainly revolve around building fitness up anyway. Also I assume after the club did some social media welcoming the players back on Saturday, they wouldn't necessarily need to release any pictures or clips of training tomorrow if they didn't want to.

Ultimately though if anything shows Conte taking training tomorrow I cannot see a way to back out of this. It would be a huge PR blunder to 'lead Conte on' all summer that he would still be here only to sack him a few days into pre-season. It looks silly and disrespectful. Having said that waiting to sack him until the eve of pre-season isn't much better!

Absolutely spot on. Some of the posts on here are just laughable we are fans football clubs pay lip service to fans at best. All this I want to know why we haven't got a new manager why haven't we bought so and so forget it what happens happens moaning on a forum is pissing in the wind. And please don't reply with Liverpool have done this Man United have bought him we are Chelsea and making lazy comparisons to other teams is pointless.

Then we don't have a forum....

the same of last year. average and injured ones, then blame conte because he only reaches the FA cup trophy:P

Whilst our transfers were not great last summer, Conte cannot be absolved of the blame when we fall from 1st to 5th and he seems to be expending more energy moaning and bitching in press conferences than on the touchline pushing the team on.

Having a forum and moaning about something that's completely out of our hands is a different matter. Chelsea have always been a basket club of a club nothing ever runs smoothly old geezers like me accepted that years ago and I think some of our younger fans should whether grudgingly or not accept it as well.

Gotta be able to let off some steam tho mate. Just like of you see siumet that happens on the pitch, we get up and shout holy hell. Nobody is listening and even less cares what we think. But at the time it feels better for having done it.

Well it doesn't make me feel any better having whined, winged and pouted about how the clubs disappointing me but its better out than keeping it in.I know I should be used to the constant stream of shite the clubs poured on us over the years but I never do seem to be able to take in any easier.

Why would you find Chelsea struggling hilarious?

Not the struggling, just the clamouring to sign him like he is the main man, to then turn out like Scolari would be a tad humorous.

With the fans then sayin "should have kept Conte"

I wouldn't exactly go with humorous but this whole episode, if Sarri does join, will put so much needless and unnecessary pressure on him because it's now got to the point where he's being built as the messiah.

To be honest if he can keep us challenging within the top 4 for the next couple of seasons, win a cup alongside it perhaps, whilst introducing an exciting, attacking brand of football, I would be pleased with this as it would give us a new strong base to work from moving forward based on vibrant, attacking football as opposed to a steely, organised, conservative approach.

On the flip side it does bode well that if we do go through all this to finally secure him, it'll show how much the club wanted him and hopefully as a result will give him the time and patience he may need to get his ideas across to the players.

I dont think for a moment that Sarri is going to have some magic wand and 'just like that; we will be all conquering but what I do hope is he just gives us a different way to play..

When Conte came after those 1st few games that he was still seeing what he had to work with we started paying some absolurly cracking football that I for one loved watching. yjem for various reasons that all concerned played their parts it went tits up.

But now hopefully we might just have a chance to start playing some exciting football again

Its not gonna happen overnight and theres not a chance of us even competing let alone play exciting football with our current squad.

But if we do manage to buy a few who van at least show our powers that be what we could achieve then just maybe it might get us turning a corner on how we do business iin the future.

Or I could just be feeling optimistic because I've got bloodshot eyes and drank far too much Jim Beam.

I do hope tho that we get some good news today.

It is understood Conte held meetings and, unless the situation changes, will fulfil the final year of his contract. (BBC) #CFC

Lol, with this dead squad? With players not wanting to play for Conte? Are they mad?

Even though I’ll not be watching Chelsea next season (unless situation changes), it will be very depressing for the ones that do. The fans do not deserve this. If you think a few results like 4-1 against Watford last season were bad, hold on to your seatbelts because next season’s going to be worse.

You're not a proper Chelsea supporter mate.

My life’s more important to me than Chelsea.

If Sarri comes in, I’ll watch Chelsea even though we still struggle to get top 4.

The reason why I’m not bothering because as it stands - the club doesn’t care. They don’t care about the fans, they don’t care about our situation. Unless fan protests happen (and I’ll be there), why should I care?

We all know that if Conte stays, we will be 6th at the very least. And I’m not going to watch us get battered by Arsenal, City, Spuds again. If that’s your entertainment, more power to you.

Why should I watch players like Willian not giving a damn? Or Morata continue to be very poor as usual? Or God forbid, lose Hazard and have a weak replacement? You don’t know how bad the situation is if you do not understand where I’m coming from, and that is worrying.

People here don’t like me endlessly rant about the club and how spineless they are, but that is what I’m going to do if I watch this club as it stands. And to be honest? I’m tired of that now. That’s why I don’t want to watch unless a new manager comes in with new ideas and players.

Let me remind you: We finished 5th last season. Miles upon miles behind City. The season was a complete shambles, and don’t fecking let that FA Cup win get in to your head. And we are doing NOTHING to improve that. Our stadium plans are halted too. Things in Chelsea are in a standstill, stale or going backwards. Change must happen.

Also don’t worry, I’m not ignoring Chelsea as a whole, as I’ll continue to watch the Women.

This situation is just a mess. From top to bottom. If he was always going to fufill his final year of contract then why not come out and back the manager?? Makes zero sense.

Lol....

That means I should get prepared to suffer without the ball then... More of Bakayoko and Fabregas....wow... As it stands I better not bother to watch Chelsea because watch as Fulham that plays xciting football batter us without the ball... More still the manager will even care no less cos he knows he isn't wanted seeing the last year of his contract....

The board paid fortune for the likes of Bakayoko, Drinkwater, Zappacosta who did not improve us or move forward at all, but are hesitant to pay for the sacking of someone who almost begged to be sacked and appointing someone who could actually change a lot. Suffer without the ball, my ass. I hate the board so much.

Conte staying means Hazard, RLC amd Willian leaving? Well done... Great strategy for not paying 4M for Sarri
