Baba was one of the best prospect in Europe. Going for this man rather than Baba would be a desperate move.

That might be the case but unless you have seen him play regularly, it's silly to pass judgment on Telles and say he's worse than Player X, Y, Z etc.

Never said he is worse than this or that player. Just pointed out I don't see any reason we couldn't sign some player from Augsburg. So why we are after for cheaper option suddenly, unless it is a sign of desperation.

Maybe the player doesn't want to come here and sit on the bench, thus forcing us to pursue other alternatives?

Moreover, just because we are looking at cheaper options, it doesn't mean it's a sign of desperation.

Maybe, we will soon know the reason if we're ended up not signing him.

If we rate Telles that high, for sure we will go after him first rather than any other options.

He looks very strong going forward but I'm watching this comp right now & our own Gokhan Tore has absolutely ruined him on several occasions.

Seems like more of a depth signing than a player we're convinced will be a starter this season. An optimistic view would be Jose thinks he can mould him into his own Marcelo or Maicon but in reality I'm thinking we should just go after Alex Sandro instead.

Sandro's contract actually expires next summer so Porto are in danger of losing him for absolutely nothing. Don't understand why we aren't showing any interest at all.

He seems like starter quality

You're wrong, DI Marzio never said we're interested in Griezmann.

Actually, he is the only reliable source, who did not wrote about Griezmann to Chelsea. The Telegraph and The Guardian wrote about it, but not Di Marzio.

Alex Sandro is a very good player, but there is simply no reason for us to buy a LB of such quality at this moment in time; Azpi will be first-choice LB so long as Terry is playing at CB, and any other player will simply find themselves in the same position as Luis was last season. Not only would we end up overpaying for a second-choice player, but we would also struggle to keep such a player happy with the limited amount of game-time on offer to them.

He's no more reliable than beasley

Thats not a bad thing, Beasley proved he's very reliable about Chelsea, although he's a creepy clown. We as fans are very unlucky that the ONLY journalist with real connections at the club is Beasley, imagine if it was a normal person.

Di Marzio got a lof of things right about Chelsea in the past few years, he was the first to talk about Eto'o, Salah, Cuadrado, Baba and Telles now, Stones. Obviously he's not working alone, he have different kind of sources and reporters, not all of them are great (for example, they got a lot of false stories about Liverpool).

http://gianlucadimarzio.com/en/eng/juventus-interested-in-alex-sandro-but-face-competition-from-man-city-while-cuadrado/

With Vidal on verge of joining Bayern Munich, Juventus is looking for ways to bolster Allegri's squad. The Bianconeri are looking for a wing player, which would allow them to move Asamoah to the middle. Cuadrado remains a target for them, but they are also interested in Alex Sandro. Despite fact the Brazilian has one year left on his deal, Porto isn't offering discounts on their request of €25 million. Juventus needs to consider Manchester City's competition, the English club could sign him on a free transfer next year. Juventus is focused on Cuadrado and Alex Sandro for the winger position.

Probably because of the asking price, 25m€. I want Alex Sandro for 2 years. Really like him. Personally think he's better than Danilo as a full-back.

Edit. Oh, saw this on Twitter :
