As an Irisman I feel I must apologise for the disrespect that oaf has shown to your National Anthem. The guy lives in England and earns a very healthy wage there too. I hope that when he comes to Stamford Bridge that he gets the reception he deserves. He may come from a "republican" area of Northern Ireland but he does NOT represent the majority of Irish people or Irish football fans.People like him set back good relationships by years and his beliefs should hold no place on a sporting field.

Send him packing back to his beloved Ireland and let him see what he will earn in the Irish leagues. He will gratefully accept the queens shilling, therefore he should have no gripe with showing respect to the National Anthem.

A bloody knuckle dragger who is not a true representative of decent sport loving Irish people. Once again, my apologies

I don't get the fuss as much, he is free to believe in what he wants, the whole poppy thing he explained his reasons for it so I think we should just respect his decision as well to turn his back on the national anthem or never mind it if it is that offensive.

No point labeling him a cunt or this or that, look what happened to him last season where he received death threats from various football fans for standing up and believing in what he does, in fact hes even been labelled a terrorist and anti British by some people. Its ridiculous, especially considering he is not the only person to come from a republican area of Northern Ireland with such beliefs just because he is a professional athlete who doesn't hide it doesn't mean we should particularly feel the need to shoot him down for it just because he is in the limelight.

He should be free to believe what he wants.

Sorry mate, but I think he should fuck off to a country where he would be happier. England doesn't need the disrespectful little shit. I have grown up through the troubles and lived in England for years and was never shown anything but respect by the English people. When you are living in a country you should respect their flag and their customs. When you disrespect their flag you are also disrespecting their people. That's why he shown the door, not only by West Brom. but also by England as a country. He has also really let down the Irish people as a whole. The past is history. We should all be looking to the future because living in the past only breeds contempt and hatred.
