I have to say I liked the 09-10 team much more than our current squad.

Not only because of the style of play but much more because of the players and general team-setup. Goals were coming from everywhere with the likes of Drogba, Anelka, Lampard, Malouda, Ballack and even Kalou managed to get on the scoresheet from time to time. Also back then winning the PL was much more difficult to achieve.

Was there that day.Such fun :D the argument over the penalty..the whole Man U fans thinking we'd throw it away..the pitch invader who got pretty far considering.Last time was there on the last day before was with Grant and the slim chance we may be able to win the league had Man U slipped up..which they didnt but the cheering half way through was a bit hmm oops lol

Seeing us lift it real life :D good times

Curious, why do you say that?

Man United for example were much better then they are now and were certainly much stronger and a much bigger threat for us than this seasons Man City.

In 2010 we won the title by just one point whereas this season we basically walked the league.

Manchester United were more competitive back then than now but that still doesn't say much. I just don't get why people have used the lack of competition from others this season to sort of downplay our title win. I don't deny that City, Arsenal and United have been inconsistent but on the other hand, why don't people look at our consistency in picking up results this season and actually appreciate the quality to win matches even when we're not playing well? We have been the most consistent, dominant side and one who are capable of getting three points by playing different ways. In 2009/10, we had competition from United but were we really that good? We played some great stuff that term but were quite prone to brainfart results along the way. Silly points dropped against Birmingham, Hull, Man City, Blackburn and Spurs for instance. We were inconsistent and that made it look like the league was harder to win back then.

But in fairness aside from Uefalona striking we could have won the Champions League that year.

The Man City game was the Terry- Bridge handshake incident and it might have affected the team but City deserved to win that day. Never easy to go to Blackburn and win so a point at Ewood Park is an ok result. Tottenham beat us at White Hart Lane in 2007 and 2009 so losing to them wasn't a massive surprise. We did the double over Arsenal, Liverpool, and Man United we beat Blackburn 5-0, Bolton 4-0, Wolves 4-0, Sunderland 7-2, West Ham 4-1, Portsmouth 5-0, Villa 7-1, Stoke 7-0, and Wigan 8-0 and we won the cup so yes we were the best team in England. You can't say we have been dominant since Christmas, consistent yes results wise and we've played exactly the same way over the last few months. The old cliche that football is a results business has never been more apt and when it makes you champions well i won't be complaining at the parade.

Not discrediting that title win in 2010 at all. We played some great stuff and had some excellent results but unlike this season, we couldn't sustain them. We played well and got the results for 3-4 games and then suddenly played badly and dropped silly points. This season, we played well and consistently got good results. When we didn't play well, we still got good results. Obviously, the others have done poorly this season to compete but we have also done brilliantly to make sure there's no competition. The only thing people seem to be focusing on is how weak the others have been rather than looking at the work we've done.

That was such a roller coaster season, I think every time we gained an 3 or more point advantage we dropped point's the next week to let United back in it, so frustrating.

But surely the end justify's the means in both 2010 and 2015. It's churlish to pick faults in a title winning team but it's the 2010 team for me all day long. There were no others in 2010 just us and United. We finished 11 points ahead of Arsenal in third and 16 points ahead of Spurs in fourth

Neither were perfect, both had areas that needed improving, but this time I can see the areas getting fixed properly.

2010 I thought at times in the season there was signs the squad needed refreshing some time soon but our storming last 3 games covered that up.

Pick faults? Think you misunderstood the point. People think we won this year's title only because there's no competition and overlook the work we put in. They prefer the 2009/10 season just because there was a team challenging us then even though the team has displayed better qualities now than back then.

No i don't mean you picking faults. I'm saying that anyone Chelsea fan or not would have to be an utter berk to moan when there team has just won the league. If Guardiola comes to City he'll soon find out you can't play expansive football every week. It's funny how Arsenal fans conveniently forget the sort of football they played under George Graham now that was negative and calculated football. Chelsea have some JCL fans can't deny that but in the 90's Arsenal were who the casual fan latched on to. I've met geezers i knew when they were kids who swear there life long Gooners when i know had no interest in football till Wenger took over and they started winning things. Sorry i'm getting off the topic but this vid sums up Arsenal fans up perfectly.
