Cole doesn't offer the flexibility of Azpilicueta where he can drop from LB to RB without any issues. Azpi's quality has been so prominent you cannot just pull him away from that left side on the job he has done just to give Cole 'Minutes'

It's also the opinion of Jose too looking at the amount of games and trust placed in Azpilicueta. It's also huge testament to Azpi keeping out Cole considering he is a converted LB.

Agree with that. There were games where Azpi and Iva were tired or on bad form (especially Iva) and Ash probably should have come in. But we were doing so well defensively, I can see why Jose was reluctant to make any changes at the back.

Nobody is infallible. Nor was he correct in everything he did, but one thing for sure he has helped Azpilicueta become the player he has, couple that with the energy and work ethic of Azpi you can see why he is trusted and held in high regard by Mourinho.
