Chelsea and Liverpool are frequent cup opponents. The two sides have clashed fifteen times in the last ten years with Chelsea edging Liverpool out on the head-to-head winning six on six occasions. The two sides face each other again in the Capital One Cup semifinal here on Tuesday. While not carrying the prestige of the Champions League games played in Mourinho's first stint as manager, tonight's game still represents a chance for one of the teams to ensure a Cup final at Wembley this season.

Venue: Anfield Date: 20/01/2015 Time: 19:45 GMT

Liverpool have had an indifferent season so far. Everyone expected them to struggle once Suarez left. Everyone was proved right. But the Reds have gone through a revival, of sorts, lately. They are unbeaten in the last eight games since the 3-0 loss to rivals Manchester United. They are also unbeaten at Anfield since the defeat to Chelsea in November.

Steven Gerrard and Adam Lallana could feature for Liverpool after they sat out the weekend win over Aston Villa with minor injuries. Mario Balotelli, who is down with a chest infection, is a doubt for this game.

After a good start to the season, Chelsea stuttered through their busy Christmas schedule, drawing at Southampton before the heavy loss at Tottenham. But the Blues will be buoyed by a clinical display against Swansea over the weekend when Oscar and Diego Costa scored twice in a 5-0 away win.

Thibaut Courtois who has been nursing a thumb injury could return to the playing eleven but Cesar Azpilicueta is set to miss out. Kurt Zouma, Loic Remy and Andre Schurrle are in line for rare starts
