Just noticed that Bongonda was a product of the Guillou academy (brought a big part of CIV's golden generation to Belgium, including Yaya Toure) ... it seems that Bongonda graduated at the same time as Denayer. This is the moment when he caught my eye:

Yesterday it was announced that Indy Boonen (turned 16 last month) will move to Manchester United ... today Aston Villa are trying to convince 16yo striker Din Sula to sign ... Standard's academy could be facing an exodus this year ... according to the director of the academy the class of 1999 is an exceptionally talented one but they've already had to watch a couple of players leave the squad while others could soon follow, e.g. Adrien Bongiovanni (Tottenham, Roma, etc.) Zinho Vanheusden (Inter), Thibaud Verlinden (Liverpool), etc. ... there are plenty of upcoming Belgian prospects, yet the future of youth development in Belgium seems bleak.
