I think we would have lost that season. Everything seemed to go their way with several of their players performing well above their normal level. What's clear is that every team in the league is going to give us their absolute best effort; if Sunderland put in that kind of shift every weekend they would have at least 10 more points than they do right now.

Very, very close to throwing my remote through the tv screen. Absolutely infuriating match.

Why did we just continue doing what obviously wasn't working? Get it to the edge of their box over and over again and just stalled to walking pace. They're camped in there box every time we attack. PLAY WITH WIDTH AND STRETCH THEM!

Our entire front 4 were completely ineffective against the aircraft carrier they had in front of goal. Didn't help that we ran out of gas in the second half.

Matić was the only player who was at his best today. He was totally dominant and a monster once again.

Very concerning that we looked so lethargic when we play in just a few days.

Not sure why Willian was taken off thought of the 3 AM's Willian was the best followed by Oscar and finally Hazard... Needed Hazard to use his genius to break them down but all game long he kept passing off rather than driving at the defense with pace. The team was fatigued...

Very, very pleased to have gotten out of there with a point in the end. The force was simply not with us today.

This has been a nice reminder for the squad and fans that we are not the unstoppable machine that the media want to cast us as. When we are at something less than our best, other sides can, and do, cause us problems. Even the enforced benching for Diego on Wednesday night looks like it might do us good. Obviously disappointed that we underperformed but genuinely happy with the point given the circumstances.

Fatigue played a big part, both physically and mentally. Team looked jaded at times, especially in the last 20 minutes.

Ramires would have fit perfectly into this game. Hopefully he and Schurrle start against Spurs, a bit of rotation won't do any harm.

Top of the table. And undefeated. :blue scalf: :blue scalf: :blue scalf: :blue scalf:

I was horrified to see us defending for our lives at the end of the game, particularly when Altidore almost bulldozed his way past our defence.. that after we completely ran out of ideas at the other end.

Time to pick ourselves up against T*ttenham next week.
