The way he was treated by Villas-Boas was disgusting.

The fact we then started the 2012/13 season with only Torres as a recognised striker (Sturridge was almost exclusively used by a RDM as a winger) was an even worse decision.

I don't usually feel too bad when a player leaves the club, because unless he's forced out, he wanted out for one reason or another. Even if he's forced out, then the club did not want the player any longer (or the money was too good). Regardless, there was a reason for the departure and that reason wouldn't go away by sheer magic.
