Probably BS anyway but whatever...

The Blues are lurking with Villa battling to persuade Grealish to sign a new contract.

Chelsea are long-term admirers of the exciting 18-year-old winger, but they have failed to lure him to Stamford Bridge despite making previous attempts as he has risen through the Villa ranks.

They are now on alert again with his contract talks delicately poised.

Grealish's current deal is due to expire next summer.

Villa have held discussions with him about a new long-term deal worth in the region of £5,000-a-week.

But they will almost certainly have to up their offer even though Villa fan Grealish is keen to stay and make his mark at his boyhood club.

That's because Chelsea are waiting in the wings and capable of blowing Villa out of the water with an offer that would severely test the youngster's loyalty.

Grealish is rated as one of the best youngsters in the country.

He was first included in Villa's first-team squad when he was named on the bench for their league game against Chelsea in March 2012 at the age of just 16.

He then starred for Notts County during a brilliant loan spell in League Two last season before making his Villa debut against Manchester City in May.

Grealish has stayed with Villa this season and made three appearances for Paul Lambert's side.

The FA are also keeping tabs on Grealish. He was born in Birmingham but qualifies for Ireland through his dad and grandparents.

So far he has chosen to represent Ireland and played up to under-21 level.
