Loic Remy Will Join Chelsea - Redknapp Confirms

QPR manager, Harry Redknapp, has confirmed in his prematch inteview today, that his 27 year-old striker, Loic Remy, will be joining Chelsea before the end of the transfer window.

 

This announcement by Redknapp comes after the Frenchman was completely left out of his team's matchday squad against Sunderland.

 

Remy, who scored 14 goals in his 26 appearances for Newcastle on loan from QPR last season, has been heavily linked with Chelsea for the past couple of days as a replacement for Fernando Torres who has left Stamford Bridge to join AC Milan on a 2-year loan deal.

 

Known for his explosive pace and clinical finishing, Loic offers an excellent option off the bench, and a good bargain for the reported 8.5m.

I'm just nitpicking, but he only confirmed he's leaving. Quote about Chelsea "as far as I know yeah". But all things aside, it's almost as good as confirmation so WELL DONE.

We've had some good transfer windows these past few years but this one takes the top.

Not a stellar signing but short-term wise, he should be a useful signing. The trio of Costa, Remy and Drogba are already better than Eto'o, Ba and Torres!

low-risk, high-reward type of signing. Can't complain about the price tag considering today's market. Excited to have a pacy striker in our team again since the likes of Sturridge and Anelka. He'll fit like a glove here at Chelsea.

He's used to the league and most importantly already lives in London. There won't be any issues of adapting (personal life wise) and I am sure he'll get along with our players. For 8.5m, this is the best possible deal we could think of for a second choice striker.

It'll be surprising because like every sources in the media says it's done. Even we know the price, 8m. And I think it will be frustrating if we can't get to complete that signing, we need the second striker. I'm sure Mourinho thinks same way
