Marco Van Ginkel has today rejected a proposed loan move to AC Milan despite Italian club agreeing a deal for the Dutchman with Chelsea, according to Fabrizio Romano.

Marco's decision comes as somewhat of a shock after Adriano Galliani, the club's CEO and vice president, expressed his confidence that the 21 year old will be part of his team this coming season:

“We are confident, we made our proposal to Chelsea and are now waiting for an answer. We hope to be able to sign him.”

Van Ginkel's decision to stay and fight for a place in a very competitive Chelsea squad is very admirable, especially that he would almost certainly got considerably more playing time at the Serie A side.

But perhaps more concerning for Chelsea fans is how this twist in the plot might affect Fernando Torres' proposed move to Milan. The Italians had already made an official bid to take 30 year-old striker on a season long loan with an obligation to buy him at the end of it.

"Our goal is to take a great striker. Fernando Torres? He is a great striker." Galliani was quoted saying. "Let’s see if he comes or someone else. We are actively working."

But falling through of the Van Ginkel deal in addition to Torres' incredibly high wages may we mean that the Italian side may end up with Fabio Borini or Roberto Soldado.

More importantly than that, Does it kill the Destro Deal!!!

Obviously. No Torres to Milan means No Destro.

Can MVG get actually get decent playing time ahead of Ramires and Mikel? I'm not sure, but I certainly wish him well.

That's what I'm afraid of. He'll play the Capital One games and possibly the first coupld eof FA cup games. But that might be it. I do hope I'm wrong.

i dont see why, 2 loan deals , for separate players in different positions, would be dependent on one another. torres can go to milan without ginkel accompanying

Because according to the rumors, the thing is stuck on Torres' wages. It is completely plausible that Milan have asked for MVG on loan or they won't pay the wages in full.
