Hello friends.

I just watch the match Athletic Bilbao - Barcelona and
Messi is a spectacular SHOW. This guy is better than Maradona and I need to see Messi with us at Chelsea.

Yeah, I know, a lot of money, we have Hazard ... But there is only one difference between Real Madrid or Manchester United and US:

Real Madrid and Manchester United have had players like Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo and Zidane and we do not.

That's the difference. They can do whatever they want without fear of Financial Fair Play rules because they have players that have enabled them to become one of the most important global brands.

I'm not saying they are better than US, but in economic terms they are superior for that. In economic terms and with Financial Fair Play rule is better have Kaka than Hazard. In sporting terms is very different, obviously.

Signing Messi could change our history. We would give the jump to be one of the big 3 teams in the world both in economic terms and in sporting terms.

The signing of Messi can be a turning point for consolidating the project of Roman Abramovich as many years was the signing of Di Stefano for Madrid.

Again, if we want to compete with the other big teams while there is rule Financial Fair Play, We have to sign Messi. If we do this, Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern continue laughing at us because they have no problems with the Financial Fair Play.

But not only for money, Messi is the best player ever, and he is recovering his best again.

In a "bad season" Messi has scored 34 goals and gave 14 assists (second best assistant in Europe, behind only of our big Fabregas)....

Messi has to play with US

Roman, please, DO IT!

Regards to ALL.

Even if we had the chance to buy him, where would he play for us?RW?OM?As our main striker?

Messi said to Guardiola that he sees himself as a central forward and he wanted that Guardiola puts him as the main striker, while Ibrahimovic had to be on the bench or play in a position that he has never played before.

If he would be our OM,Fabregas has to be benched because a midfield with Messi and Fabregas is far too offensive.

Hi!

Messi can play with that Diego Costa perfectly IMO. And Messi is perfectly complementary with Fabregas. Messi has no fixed position in the field, it's what Argentines call "9.5". He is not a 9 Nor is 10 and is not a puree winger. Messi rotates its position on all fronts of attack without a defined position.

This season we have done our best football at the beginning, in a similar style to Guardiola`s Barcelona, with Hazards - Fabregas - Willian - Oscar - Costa exchanging their positions constantly. If we signed him to Messi, he could fit perfectly into the philosophy of football that we have used to perfection at the start of this season.

Messi is a total player without a defined position but always very dangerous.

For me Messi is the best player in the history. The issue is not how to find a place to Messi, because for a player like Messi is the easiest thing is finding a place for him in any part of our team. Messi is not a problem, Messi is a solution / blessing.

I think we could play with Messi with the following options.

Option 1 (A).

Fabregas Matic

Cuadrado Hazard

Messi Diego Costa

(as false 9)

---------------------------------------------------------------

Option 1 (B ).

Fabregas Matic

Cuadrado Messi Hazard

(as false 10)

Diego Costa

-------------------------------------------------------------------

Option 2.

Ramires Matic

Fabregas

Messi Hazard.

(as false winger)

Diego Costa

------------------------------------------------------------------

Option 3. With Messi as a false 9 (1). *

Ramires Matic

Cuadrado Fabregas Hazard

Messi

(as a false 9)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Option 4. With Messi as a false 9 (2). *

Fabregas Matic

Cuadrado Oscar/Willian Hazard

Messi

(as a false 9)

------------------------------------------------------------------

Option 5. *

Ramires Matic

Fabregas

Messi Cuadrado/Willian

(as false winger)

Diego Costa

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

* I'm not talking about, OBVIOUSLY, to remove Diego Costa or Hazard of our starting eleven, but throughout the season every match presents many different situations.

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I know the word "FALSE" may seem like a joke, but I think Messi has no definite position as Maradona.

But Messi would give us a lot different to our starting eleven variables, apart from being a spectacular TOP player.

This is a unique opportunity. It's now or never.

Regards.

Regards to ALL.

If anyone does not know in depth the Spanish La Liga. The stadium of Athletic Bilbao (San Mames) is probably one of the most complicated stadium of the Spanish La Liga.

If adidas is willing to pay at least half then yes, if they arent, I wouldnt want us to pay 200m on single player ever. Was Ronaldo or Bale realy realy worth 200m combined?

Ronaldo had mare in CL final, he won only one la liga in 4 seasons. Not worth imo. Bayern on other side, a much much more balanced team (under heynckes).

I wouldnt want world best player, we should push Hazard to do what Sneijder/Ribery/Robben did for their clubs. Best in world doesnt mean best and most useful/valuable for club. What those three did for their teams when they won domestic and international trophies was more than Ronaldo did for his. Messi is level above and brought barca to several titles, but still big question how can he do in england and for how long, the price of 200m would be only be reasonable if we win two CLs in 3 years and PL title every year but there is no guarantee that Messi can give us that. Cl win depends on many factors like hard work and luck, while PL could be obtainable even without messi for next few years. Not to mention Messi would force either Costa or Hazard out of squad, and I dont want that.

Good player, but should stay in barca. We can make a more balanced, equal team with OUR OWN stars.

The head execs at Adidas get must get sexually aroused at the thought of all the money generated by Messi at an Adidas team.

Yes. Totally agree with you.

This move could have a huge impact for Adidas as years ago when David Beckham change Machester United (Nike) by Real Madrid (Adidas), or when Cristiano Ronaldo change Manchester United (Nike) by Real Madrid (Adidas). (Remove a Nike star to other Adidas team also was a big deal for Adidas)

Adidas will go crazy by seeing Messi in Adidas team

Cristiano is still nike.

Yes. But it is a way for Adidas to annoy Nike.

If Adidas loses money by having Messi in a Nike team, also Nike loses money taking Cristiano Ronaldo in Adidas team.

It is a "war" between brands.

Suffice to say that Lionel Messi at this moment is the most famous and commercialised footballer in the World. When I was a child I knew nothing of the world of football, my mind was set entirely in rugby but even I saw the news when David Beckham moved to Real Madrid. It was astonishing even for those that knew nothing. For those people who grew up watching football it's impossible to understand just how much David Beckham crossed divides from footballer to celeberity. Messi isn't on that level but it's a safe bet no one ever will reach it again.

Adidas already run campaigns of Messi in his Argentina kit but having Messi at any Adidas club offers them much more visual media to work with.

Hi!

I understand perfectly what you say. True, Messi would not guarantee us winning the Champions League, would be too risky to sign one player for so much money and we have of Eden which can be a very TOP PLAYER in a short time. But we have a feature that makes us less than Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern by rule of the Financial Fair Play: THE STORY. They carry more than 60 years as a TOP TEAMS, and Chelsea is a TOP TEAM since arriving Roman Abramovich.

We can not compete economically with them. And now, if you can not compete economically hardly what you can do sportingly.

That's the difference. The signing of Messi would be a giant inflexion point. We we would have a player with the same impact on advertising than David Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo or Ronaldinho and would increase our revenues in China, America and our new sponsorship contracts.

We have a great car, but we have the best wheels, and signing Messi would suppose (metaphorically) put our great car wheels at the same level as the wheels of Real Madrid or Barcelona.

If we signed him of Messi, maybe in 10 years we are of the same economic level as Manchester United, Real Madrid, Barcelona or Bayern.

It's not just a good signing in sporting terms, it is also a good signing in sporting terms. And now, in today's football, you can only be a TOP TEAM if you combine a good sports project and a good sports project.

Real Madrid laughs Financial Fair Play for having signed players like Figo, Zidane, Ronaldo, Beckham, Cristiano Ronaldo, Kaka or Bale. And thanks to that they have won four Champions League in the last 20 years. It is a model that works.

Messi would be the definitive consolidation of Roman Abramovich draft placing Chelsea in the top of football.

Regards.

Sure signing Messi would give us economical boost and more worldwide support, but I dont think having reputation like Rm (history, fans, popularity, money, fame) is equal to get success. Liverpool is one team who handled money and coach wrong. And look where they are. Same with united. Now they spent crazy as hell but it doesnt bring you to success.

To have balanced team with good coach can win you more trophies than having world class player and fame.

For example, Real won only one CL trophy since 2001? They spend billions on the players and their success was extremely poor for the investment given. On other hand, Bayern who was quite a wreck around 2008, brough proper coaches, worked on balanced hardworking team and they enjoyed great success and following their good style of football, trophies won; their "power" and "fame" spread around world quickly.

And sure as hell I dont want Chelsea to become international celebrity brand like Real. Prefer to keep it simple as we always were. Sigings of Torres, Sheva and considering we had not a single player who was realy considered as superstar, but still managed to win all these trophies in last years point out that we should think twice before signing messi.

It would be great commercial success, but not sure about football success.

Yeah, right. There is a risk filled with disgusting fame and glamor our team if we follow the model of Real Madrid. But perhaps Messi is not a player of fame and glamor like David Beckham or Cristiano Ronaldo (as commented on a previous post @Spike Spiegel).

Messi is more shy and normal than Beckhan and Christian. His signing would be like Zidane, a great player but not a drama queen like Ronaldo or Beckham.

Messi is a very competitive guy, has already won three Champions League and now wants to be to advance to the World Cup 2018. But evidently he did not would guarantee trophies to us.

I believe that in Mourinho model (our model for many years), but maybe Messi would suppose a definite boost for us not fear the Financial Fair Play.

No would guarantee titles, but deliver us from the fear of hypothetical sanctions UEFA.

I'd like Messi only if we can keep Hazard, and Adidas help out.

There's rumor Adidas will pay United to take him, but he will not go there. This year's side will be lucky to get Champions League football!

The fact remains that we are the only logical choice to go to if Barcelona do decide to cash in on him.

As I have said before though, he is worth much more to Barcelona than us. To other clubs, he is a £80m. To Barca he's probably worth very nearly his full buyout clause.
