We really need additional striker?

I really really feel that we need to sign additional striker who can scores goals from the bench and also be backup to Costca/Drogba! Someone young and who is willing to run around! Last year we didn't have any reliable scorer, this time we are going to heavily depend on Costa and occasional contributions from Drogba (his glorious days are really behind him realistically speaking). I don't even want to get into the 'Torres' topic!

What if Costa's hamstring comes back during the first couple of games? who is going to stepup and lead the line? Torres? Drogba can't play more than 20mts in his current situation and form (assuming that he can bounce back from his ankle injury soon). In every other area of the pitch, we have more than capable backup to come in and let the formation and play continue. But the striker situation is still very light to be able compete in every competition for gold. I have a feeling that Mourinho is looking into the situations of Lavezzi or Remy to give our bench a comforting view. But I really think that signing a striker should be a priority before the transfer window shuts down in order to have a 100% balanced team that is capable of making double, tripple....!

What say you my fellows?

I really think that a 2nd striker is crucial. I just cannot understand why Mourinho trusts in Torres. I'd love to have an option like Remy, Huntelaar, Negredo, Vucinic, Rossi, Palacio, Llorente, Benteke , Cardozo, Volland

We just cannot start the season with Costa - Torres - Drogba. That's utter shit, I can't believe this!!! But Jose knows best

I prefer someone with pace. Costa even if he doesn't score goals he can make opponent defenders tired through the game. And thats where he comes in.

Remy is viable option for me, if we get a little luck we can get Benteke for better quality but that seems a bit impossible. eto'o still has it though. Its a poor decision by Chelsea letting him go. He'll be a perfect super sub especially in attacking division. Imagine he just can play few minutes considering his stamina, and he just finished the job that Costa already make easier for him

The problem is we can not simply buy a foreign player. Our non-homegrown squad already exceeds the 17 players contingent( btw who will even be excleded?). OUr addition needs to be homegrown

Not the right guy. don't want him. and now he looks like he's putting on lard weight.

Steven Fletcher is a better lone striker for 90 minutes, but that's just one example.

steven Fletcher would be a great option if homegrown. (is he?)

jay rodriguez would probably be the best available homegrown option. Suddenly Liverpool look smart snapping up Rickie Lambert. He would have been a perfect 2nd/3rd striker

Also I have always been a fan of GAry hoopers instinctive finishing in the scottish premiership...

I would even consider Patrick Bamford, our own home grown kid, to sit on the bench and at least get some running time on less important cups such as FA. It sometimes worry me that we don't praise home grown kids into first team as much. The very idea of getting first team time during regular season may help unearth hidden talent! But Jose isn't much of a young talent spotter anyways!

Wasn't Patrick loaned out already? But yeah, if not, I agree with you 100%
