Chelsea have today completed the signing of Diego Costa on a five-year contract from Atletico Madrid.

The Blues posted this on their official website this afternoon:

Chelsea Football Club is delighted to announce Diego Costa has today completed his transfer from Atletico Madrid by signing a five-year contract.
He will join up with the first team for our pre-season European training camp next week.

Costa becomes Chelsea's second major signing of the summer after the arrival of fellow Spanish international Cesc Fábregas.

The Brazilian-born forward, who netted in Atletico Madrid's stunning 3-1 demolition of the Blues at Stamford Bridge back in April, featured in two of Spain's three World Cup matches, though he failed to score. Indeed, the summer tournament was the only blot on Costa's copybook last season after he netted 36 times in all competitions for his club side.

Costa will bolster the Blues' attack and will compete with Fernando Torres to be José Mourinho's primary striker next season, with Demba Ba and Romelu Lukaku seemingly on their way out.

how is 3-1 a demolition?

Did you watch the game? They humiliated us, could easily have been 6 or 7 if they wanted to.

P.S., LOL, we've just signed one of the best strikers in the world and you're more interested in the wording
