L'Equipe are a realiable source...but he will be very expensive, a lot of clubs rumoured to be interested. Great defender though and fits in Mourinhos tactics

France Football:

David Luiz's departure could open a door to Benatia. The Blues would think of an exchange with Romelu Lukaku.

CFC are interested in Benatia. However In the last hours, privately Benatia informed some of his relatives that he favors Barcelona option.

Between the two clubs, Chelsea and AS Roma, a relationship exists. Last summer, Demba Ba was assiduously courted by Rudi Garcia.

Italian media saying today that Roma have accepted Benatia request to leave and they won't make things harder for him.

They will listen to offers and apparently the most important clubs interested so far are Barcelona, City and Chelsea. There was also a slight interest from Bayern de Munich, but nothing important.

Agents already in Barcelona to discuss wages. It is told that the player will test every offer before making a final decision.

€35m is the asking price.

Catalan press also say that Barcelona would prefer Marquinhos. If it's between us and City, surely we have the upperhand thanks to the FFP, no ?

Hmmmm, I don't know, some Italian journous were saying this morning that City might have the upper hand over all the teams as they would want to include Dzeko in the deal and Roma would be interested in this offer as they are looking for a quality CF.

Still, the same journous were saying that it will be difficult to convince Dzeko to move to Italy as he doesn't want to hear about such thing.

I don't know, let's wait and see. Maybe Barcelona are looking to sign both Benatia and Marquinhos, who knows...

Because he is one of the best CB in the world atm

And so, we need to spend 30 million, on a Centre Back?! When we have one of the best 2 defenders. 2 of the best potential stars and one PERFECT BACK-UP?!

Explain it to me, I see it unneeded, when we have a need for a striker a new midfielder or a left- back.

Can someone that have actually watched him give a honest opinion about him. I don't remember him particularly impressing me, but i've probably watched max 7-8 of his games for Udinese/Roma when they have played on TV against the top clubs. 35 mil sounds abit too much, but then again we sold Luiz for 50 lol.

A move that would make absolute 0 sense.

We have Kalas and Omeruo as backups to the best CB partnership in the league. We saw how Kalas did in his first game AWAY at Merseyside and we are ready to throw 30m on a position we dont really need. Omeruo, who was on loan to Boro, displaced a national team player, yes he has that much potential. And we can play Ivanovic there as 5th choice!!!

Useless move. get a bloody striker sorted out ffs havent we learned about this enough already. and A central midfielder and a left back before we even think about the CB position.

At a top club you preferably want 4 good CBs. We had Terry, Cahill, Kalas and Luiz to play at CB last season most of the time. Ivanovic can play there but hes going to be used as RB almost 9 times out of 10 by Mourinho so now that Luiz is gone I'd say yes a CB could be useful. Omeruo and Zouma will almost definitely be loaned out this season so why are we mentioning them for next season? Benatia has improved a lot but still not sure about paying 35m for him.
