Nemanja Matic rules out return to Chelsea

Former Chelsea midfielder Nemanja Matic has ruled out a return to Stamford Bridge - for this season at least.

Matic told The Guardian: "Frankly, I want to stay another year in Lisbon.

"Of course, someone like Jose Mourinho wanting me to go back to London would be an opportunity to prove that I can play in the Premier League, but I want to achieve more at Benfica, particularly in the big games."

If he's true to his word that will keep him out of the clutches of Man Ure and give us the option of waiting another year to clear some space for him and seeing if we really need him once Jose has a closer look at the young players we've already got and/or might be bringing in this season.

bulshits...for 40 m we will buy De Rossi + KPB + Mangala

I'm curious, how would you buy those three with just €40m? Mangala alone would fetch close to €30m because he plays for Porto who are tough to negotiate with. For De Rossi and Boateng I'd say around €15m each sounds fair.

Anyway, €40m for Matic is crazy money especially when he has already played for Chelsea and we let him go for as little as €4m only two and a half years ago. Around €20-25m would be closer to reality and for that price I'd happily take him back. Don't believe it will happen though, something tells me the club won't admit their mistake so easily.
