Funny if true. How can he joins the manager that subbed him on and off in the same game? But if Mata could make peace with Jose then Matic also can.

He'd be good squad player but if the club receive such good money then it's yes every time. We're buying another midfielder alongside Bakayoko in this scenario. Honestly maybe we need more starting calibre central midfielders with our shortcomings upfront. We're likely to have Hazard, Pedro, Willian, Batschuayi and Lukaku, that's laughable comparing to City. We can play more times with 3 midfielders then and use Fabregas as creative source more often, with two adept midfielders alongside him and Alex Sandro on the left. It's unlikely anyway that we're signing top class creative player. The scenario with 3 central midfielders and Fabregas being one of them requires at least 4 absolute quality option, Matic isn't one so if we replace him with starting material midfielder with minimal net spend then it's advantage Chelsea.

I would be happy to sell Matic for £40mil, if we buy Bakayoko + Ousama Dembele or Verratti. That gives us the option to switch between 3-4-3 and 3-5-2 more frequently.

Still stick to my opinion that it's super dumb to sell a very solid player to a direct rival, no matter how good the money is. A lot of Chelsea fans will be thinking "finally, we've got rid of a bang average player," but ask yourself why Mourinho would be eager to sign him again? He obviously thinks he can make a big difference.

From our point of view, I can't help but think it would be a huge risk to enter the season whilst simply replacing Mayic with Bakayoko and having essentially the same midfield options as last season. We need more options in midfield! Kante, Bakayoko, and Cesc with Chalobah is not enough for 4 competitions.

If we sell Matic I think we'll need 2 new midfield signings.

In theory, any average player could improve their ridiculous midfield. The fact they are getting Matic instead of an engine or a quality player actually works in our favor.

José won't take too many risks with certain players. I'd rather United have Matic than much more competent midfielders that I have no doubt United could lure and sign.

While I'm not convinced about Bakayoko yet, I've cursed Matic too many times to really believe he will improve united a lot. United could (and should) do much better than Matic, but of course Matic and other average players would improve their midfield, because it is this bad, it's just that it doesn't improve dangerously imo.

Hobestly have no problem selling him to United, especially if it's for around £40M.

I'd be very happy with his departure because it would signal two positive things: Conte's correctly identifying CFC's weaknesses & probably means another CM will be brought in as well.

Win win all around.

I would not sell him to United at any price, unless we use that money to buy another midfielder or RW of the highest quality.

So much about Conte's ..

"With my help, Matic can be one of the best Midfielders in Europe"

And now, instead of proving his own Words ... He's selling him ...

What a Jerko ... Makes me so mad ... And we can't do anything about it ...

40 Millions .. haha .. What a Bargain ... I would pay 80 Million for Matic ...

Matic ... Herrera .. Pogba ...... Man what a Midfield, they gonna outplay everyone next Season ...

And we gonna have who? .... Kante who's an excellent Athlete and Bakayoko, an EPL Noob who defends well .. While both dont offer anything offensively ...

Who's gonna be the Link between DM and AM next Season fore us? Hazard?

Can you be sure though? Even you said "probably".

This is Chelsea FC (aka Hollywood FC) we're talking about here. It wouldn't be a shock if the board thinks a midfield of Kante, Fabregas, Bakayoko and Chalobah is enough for next season, just like they thought buying the likes of Baba Rahman, Falcao, Djilobodji would be enough to defend our title.

Do we even need a new CM? if we continue with 3-4-3 we we should be fine if we keep Baker and RLC in the squad.

I would say yes. Going into the new season with Kante, Bakayoko, Fabregas, Chalobah, Loftus-Cheek and whoever else from the academy feels risky. It seems Conte trusts Chalobah to do a job but the same can't be said about Loftus-Cheek, who barely got into the matchday squad towards the end of last season and even when he was used, he was playing upfront than in midfield. And we don't know how the others will fare if thrown straight into first team action. We're just 1-2 injuries away to being down with bare bones in midfield. We need a new CM and arguably, we need another creative CM. Surely we can't go with just only 1 in the team again?

Yep. Imagine if Kante or Bakayoko pick up a lengthy injury. We'd be right back to a midfield that includes Cesc which means any good team will dominate us in the middle of the pitch.

We certainly need more than one signing there.

Hahaha ..

Just in Case I am wrong, and Conte is not stupid enough to give him away, but stands by his Words ... You can expect an adequate Reply :D

OHHHH please! Be assured I am so looking forward to hearing again about his nonchalant lobs and his ability to skip past my granny and her 3 dogs in just 2.3 leapyears and him being the cornerstone of the famous Austrian cathedral St. Yoursodeludeditsnotevenfunnyanymore.
