He's so incredibly average. Hope this is the last time we start buying players based off of matches against us. Salah could be next in line if we didn't already have 50 AM's at the club already.

To be fair Willian was miles ahead of everyone out there not named Hazard today.

Yeah, let's disregard all of his previous performances because he had one average game...

He has done well since joining and hasn't really put a foot wrong or anything like that. And yesterday, he was our only attacking outlet before Hazard came on. He drove the ball, skipping past a few Basel challenges and looking to make things happen offensively but pathetically, the others were poor and not on the same wavelength.

Willian: "I hope to be able to improve my English [...] soon. After all, they even have a song for me, which I still can't really get."

Willian: "Chelsea's training ground is something from a sci-fi movie. To get into dressing room u need to go through a fingerprint scanner."

Slowly but surely he's getting there. I think he's our only player that can play well on every part of the AM. Both him and Mata got a tad bit underrated this game (mostly looking at their first half).

Don't think they got under-rated, they just got emphatically overshadowed by Hazard.

Both had pretty decent games tho.

Haha, funny, I honestly thought he had one of his poorer games for us last night, but each to their own!

Either way, I'm happy with how (relatively) fast he's settled in.

I know what your saying and with most being poor I was focusing on how players approached the game and how they did with the basics during it. Like I said in the match thread I was looking at the close control, tracking back and passing as a whole and Willian did it all for me, he got the basics spot on. Some of his cross field balls to feet were just delightful, he also showed some quality first touch control when all others looked like they had controlled a ball in their life before.
