AGREEMENT REACHED FOR TRANSFER OF VAN GINKEL

Chelsea Football Club and Vitesse Arnhem have reached an agreement for the transfer of Marco van Ginkel.

The player will join Chelsea subject to a medical, agreement of personal terms and legal documentation.

What about Marco van Ginkel for the midfield? 20 years old with over 100 appearances for Vitesse and 1 cap for Oranje, so he a bit of experience notched up. Probably not the most ideal signing for most members (he is too young, will cramp up all the other youth prospects, DE BRUYNE OMG!!!, etc) but football is a funny sport and it's hard to predict youth. Playing for Vitesse practically makes him a Chelsea player anyway...

Never seen him play, but seems a promising young midfielder and a 6 ft 1 gives us abit of a physical presence in there.

So if the reports that he has discussed whether or not he will get enough starts are true, then he is going to stay with us.Would like him and Ramires in a rotation against weaker teams. It would seem great. I know it's a bit of a Football Manager thing, but if we really do sell Mikel , De Rossi is still a posibility.

Great signing for the future. But we need impact signings for the coming season, I feel we're still too weak in midfield and if we keep signing 20-21 year olds it won't probably change much.

The clubs have agreed a fee, he hasn't signed anything.

Hopefully the club live up to their promise and give him playing time this year.
