It use to be the same thing with Berbatov.

So this is not new.

This so so true and look what berbatov has done the last two seasons at Man U some 5 and 4 goal games as well sharing golden boot with tevez last season...Torres just needs the right ink up play, people seem to forget hes not drogba he will not beast his way into the box he is a finesse finisher

oh they just love calling him a 50m flop...it's not that he has proved that he isn't that, but I have a feel that journos get an orgasm whenever they write bad about Torres...

They really are a malicious, hypocritical, sycophantic and self-important lot, and a major reason for hoping the football bubble finally bursts.

Will that help him or will the extra pressure just cause him to play worse? Who knows but one thing is certain its not going to improve his confidence...

Well hard to say. One things for sure the next couple of month is doom day. Big fan of the old El Nino - but if he dont perform now and looses his place at spains

nationale, well then i think he is finished her at Chelsea. Not to say one day he could make a comback somewhere else. Its now or never peoples patience is

running out, include many fans!.

Bit of a cunt leaving him out against Leichtenstein, if ever there was a national game to get some confidence ffs. If he played the whole game for example, he woulda scored at least one! Quite annoying. Maybe he'll score 5 in the next 2 for us and ruin Scotland :P

sorting out our striker problem could be AVB's biggest problem. He has almost too many options Torres ,Drogba ,Anelka ,Sturridge,,,

Also so little time left as the season starts properly this weekend. Nothing is won by the end of September but a good start is essential

especially for Torres .

Exactly. Contrary to the popular believe that the media are out to get us.

Moreover, the pressure and the threat of losing his NT spot permanently should be motivate him to buckle up and start performing. . . .sulking, failing to score and feeling sorry for himself will only prolong the pressure and problem. It's time to step your game up Torres.

P.S. Perhaps he could get lucky and score some tap ins ala Inzaghi, chicharito, if he just stays inside the fucking opponents box. He needs goals badly now and his best chance of getting a goal will come only through staying more inside the box and not wandering around the pitch like headless chicken.

Can you blame the writers for finding Torres story fascinating? He's only one of the most expensive players ever. And really, even here, all we talk about after a game is how much "service" Torres got

build them up ...knock them down ,,,the mantra of low class journalism.. Football suffers more from this than almost any other sport.

The only ones who build themselves up and knock themselves down are the players themselves and a touch of good/bad luck. Negative journalism is a consequence not a cause, and it can turn into a bad circle because bad publicity doesn't help to build up confidence either. If he had turned out more efficient, then there would be none of this media bullshit. It can't come as a surprise that a €50m striker who's scored 1 goal will come under scrutiny in England. At the moment it's a worse case than it was with Sheva, he was much cheaper and scored more. Bottom line is that at the moment Torres is a flop, how I wish it wasn't true and I hope he can turn things around, but this bad spell will haunt him for a long time. And whoever flops, especially with such a price tag and with this reputation, tabloid junk will pick up on that... that's their bread. Football is a show, theatre and business. For us it's an entertaining show, for media it's business. Press won't shut themselves up, Torres has to do it.

Nando did a long interview while on international duty. Hopefully his site will translate the interview as it sometimes does. If you can't wait, google translate is your friend. Very good bits about Chelsea. He brings up the same points about speed of Chelsea's game, integrating younger players and being more vertical. Very, very kind words about Sturridge.
