Well It looks like The Buyer Machine Manchester City also want Torres.... So nice... They thing Money can buy all players... jajaja they still forget, Futbol is a 11 player Only jajajaja....

City is the Stupidest Team in the world... Even Worse than Real Madrid in the Transfer Windows. If a Player is 10 Million, City will pay 25, and they pay to sale him next season for less.

Yes, because we were SO different when we got our money... Shevchenko £30m... sold for "free" anyone?

Let's not be hypocrites now - we were exactly the same and built a title-winning team with the money.

Do you really think Man City are signing the correct players though. When we signed players we identified the positions we needed covering. We needed a striker When Shevchenko arrived, at first everyone thought he was going to be quality. It was a bad mistake.

If you think having 35+ first team players and many top quality players in the same position is what Chelsea done then you are hugely mistaken.

I smell a RAT! You obviously don't know shit about our history..

We never spent 120+ million on transfers in 1 season. Even though Chelsea now have a "sugar daddy" we have stopped spending audacious amounts of money on a single player and have become more self reliant. Even tottenham have spent stupid amounts on transfers and wages. What has that got them? 1 Carling cup... Shevchenko was bought to boost our Club on a global marketing scale and sell jerseys (Which he did). He never won us a single thing. So you can never say that Chelsea "Bought success".

Most of the Key members of our squad have been here since 2004. Man city's Arab takeover occurred over 1 year ago, How come they still haven't won shit? How come they still haven't qualified for CL? Because there is no such thing as "buying success" with all the money in the world you still can't buy heart. If a player doesn't love the club he won't bleed for club. Man City's players are Mercenary's driven to the club by money! and money only! If you play for money, you will win nothing. If you play for love, you will win everything..

Man City will improve as a club. But buying players with the attitude of Balotelli and Robinho and paying 30 million + for a 5 foot midfielder that hasn't played a single minute in the PL is asking for trouble..

Well let's be fair, Real are still worse, paying £90million for any player is just ridiculous, then the values of Kaká & Benzema were way higher than they were.

chevronchelsea.pngTorres set for Chelsea?

Numerous sources, including radio station Talksport, and Guillem Balague via his Twitter account, have been reporting that Fernando Torres’ move to Chelsea is an almost done deal, stating that he should be a Chelsea player by the end of the day. Adding fuel to the fire a number of bookmakers, including Paddy Power have suspended all betting on Torres joining Chelsea after seeing a huge flurry of betting action yesterday. It had appeared Manchester City were the favourites to secure the Spanish European Championship and World Cup winner’s signature but this latest development has grabbed the attention of Chelsea and Liverpool fans everywhere.

Grow up. The only reason City are paying as much as they are is due to ridiculous transfer fees paid for by Madrid, Barcelona, ourselves, etc. The advent of the £30m player has now given rise to the £50m+ player. Asking £25m+ for average players when we paid £16m for Crespo and £13m for Cech is just the market. City are foolishly spending on their strikeforce (I agree with you there), and I'm sorry but we did essentially buy the Premiership at first - without Abramovich's investment we would have gone bust and without the injection of talent (which we wouldn't have been able to afford had we not got a sugardaddy) no way in hell would we be the force we are today.

We've forged a fantastic team with major financial investment, and doing it sensibly has allowed us to spend less in recent years. City are doing the same thing, albeit in a less structured way. It's just the truth, deal with it.

Oh, and if you think that players such as Essien, Drogba (who repeatedly wanted to move if you remember), Cech, Anelka, Carvalho, A Cole, etc. joined for "love of the club" then you're very much mistaken - they joined to win trophies and for a bumper wage.

£13 million for Cech!?!?!?!?!?! You are having a bubble aren't you? He signed for £3.5 million!

As I said Chelsea signed the right players, City aren't doing that at all. Simple as. You have to spend to win, but when you're spending on the wrong things it's not going to happen.

That is why you cannot compare Chelsea and Citys spending.

Who doesn't want to win trophies? When Blackpool walk out for their first ever Premier league game in a couple of weeks from now, it would be with the dream of winning the darn league come May. Make no mistake. Everyone's in it to win it. Whether you do win or not is another matter. So the whole argument about players being called 'mercenaries' for joining a club to win the biggest prizes the game has to offer is stupid and ignorant. Every supporter of every club wants their team to win something. Does that make everyone a gloryhunter then?

Brilliant to rub the scallies noses in it if he comes -does eem a bit injury prone -but we dont want him to go to Citeh ......

This story is really starting to gather momentum now. Torres is clearly a quality striker, but i have always said that i can't see where we would play him. What it does mean i am sure is a return to playing 2 upfront, which would mean the midfield diamond as neither Torres or Drogba can play out wide and you wouldn't drop either of them. I am not a fan at all of the diamond if we do go that route we are going to need a spectacular player to play behind the forward and make things happen because we will be lacking from wide positions.

Yes would present a few formation headaches -but Drogba and Torres up front would terrify defences -..if they could play together...

I think we should sign Reina as our back up keeper

Brilliant. We do need back up keeper -would like to see David James -Hilario is suspect and Ross Turnbull is hardly cover for the increasingly injury prone Cech
