I want them to go back and re-visit who gave that terrorist the blade to kill himself in the first season. Saul failed that lie detector - surely that has to go somewhere?

Although I'm pretty convinced Saul and the lie detector test was a red herring. I hope I'm right on that one, but I really don't think Saul is the mole, although I'm sure with the lie detector test they wanted you to wonder. I tend to believe the blade was either from Estes or Brody, or already on the guy. But I do hope they revisit the blade in some way shape or form, to let us know for sure.

There is still the mole in the CIA who hasn't been unmasked yet.

It was most likely Brody or he had it in his boot. Saul passed the test later when he was calmer.

Yeah, I think you might have skipped an episode. Brody gave the dude the blade and Saul did pass the lie detector later on. Like you said, Saul failing it the first time was just to screw with the viewers for a bit.

Brody gave the dude the blade

It was never confirmed. Brody passed the test and the official theory still is that he smuggled it through in his heel. Although it's pretty straightforward that it was Brody who gave it, demonstrated by him lying successfully on the polygraph. But there is no way to know for sure that he lied on that question.

Now that they have offed Nazir, I wonder where will they go next. I have a feeling this show will be going into decline, actually imo it has already been declining in season 2. I'm afraid they will now start focusing on bullshit love stories between Brody and Carrie and how they're going to evade assassination attempts, which doesn't sound as interesting as its original storyline. Plus I think they totally fucked up Nazir's ending. He was portrayed as this mysterious untouchable guy, but he was killed like some kneeling hobo, he didn't even look like a proper terrorist anymore. It's also rather unbelievable that they take out a few of his people and the man himself and all of a sudden they're alright. Things don't work that way, if he really was this nr. 1 terrorist in the world, then he would have others take over and seek revenge. Maybe this is what will happen, hopefully... Sounds a lot better than listening to Carrie sobbing all the time on Brody's shoulders.

Why does Jessica call her husband by his last name? I mean she is Brody too, her kids are Brody. It would be natural for her to address him as Nick, or is it a military thing? I just find it odd.

I think it is might be a US thing but maybe not, definitely a military thing. My husband was ROTC in college but decided the military wasn't the right path for him. His college friends call him "Camp" instead of Doug, even at work they often refer to the men by last name only (Unless of course there is more than one person with that last name). So in a sense it is his nickname, I use both interchangeably when I talk to him. When I am trying to get his attention I usually start by calling him Doug and if doesn't answer me then I call him Camp and that gets his attention right away. I don't answer to Camp by itself and neither does my son that I know of… I'll have to ask.

back to the show, just finished the first season and liked it a lot, haven't seen any of the new season yet but it is just starting here Monday, so I will try to catch it. I have to figure out when it's on exactly tho since my cable is out of the Philippines and so the ads are not always right and just because it says it is on doesn't mean it will be. I know it sounds strange but trust me it isn't the weirdest cable issue I have.

We'll see...they've left us with enough angles for the show to be good going forward and next week's episode might launch some new story line. (Is there a mole? Is F. Murray Abraham going to be a recurring character? What's Saul going to do?) Disagree about Nazir's end. Look at Saddam or Gadaffi. Both men, much more powerful than Nazir but both ended up looking like homeless men, hiding in ditches at the end.(And Bin Laden hiding out in a house in Pakistan). I'm fine with it. I'm with you though-I hope they don't kill off the terrorism stuff in order to boost the love story or family drama or anything. I much prefer the spy thriller aspect.

Totally agree. I am sick of people crying in the show lately!!

They have already announced the 3rd season of the show! This Sunday's finale will have to be brilliant. Wonder what's the matter with Dar Adal? There is a history of Saul and Dar Adal which was not shown properly(was it?). And why would Estes keep it a little secret to kill Brody? I mean, he can just arrest him and lock him in for the rest of his life, why kill him?

Also there has to be an investigation on how Walden's pacemaker malfunctioned! I mean if a guy from far away can do that with some computer codes, i am pretty sure the US authorities can decipher it somehow on why did it happen all of a sudden? He was a vice-president , running for the biggest office!! Lot's of stuff to look forward to hopefully.

Nazir most likely wasn't the 'boss' if you will. He was a big threat and a major player but there has to be somebody out there bigger than him. I think by introducing the new guy that's how the show will go on.

Great show despite how far-fetched it can seem at times. Final episode looks like it's going to be amazing, can't wait!

Well the CIA certainly haven't mentioned anyone pulling his strings, he certainly was made out to be the biggest threat for the USA, Nazir even said he wasn't a coward like Bin Laden (comparing yourself to Bin Laden, you can't go bigger than that). It could be that someone new will emerge so that the CIA won't know what to expect, they'd be even in a bigger blind. Although now that Nazir is dead Brody will become more or less redundant, he only had affiliation to him, so I'm not sure what's in store for him.

I think Estes plan is going to keep Brody relevant. They can't just kill him off now, he's an integral part of the show. I think it's going to run for a while.

It's also strange that nobody from the CIA asked questions about the Vice President dying with Brody the only other person in the room.

Yeah, I think the focus now will be on Saul and Carrie trying to protect Brody. But I can't see how long can they milk this storyline, if the head of the CIA wants you dead, you are dead. Something needs to happen for him to reconsider or disappear. Maybe Quinn will get a conscience and won't do it, dunno.

About the VP part, I thought about that. I have a feeling they will get back to this. They could somehow discover he provided the code. Meanwhile I think the theory will be that Brody told him that he will resign as VP candidate, which caused Walden's heart attack (remember, the security lady escorting Brody in the car heard him say that on the phone that he's planning to resign, not that it was a big secret to them, they gave the order).

I'm not sure about Saul protecting Brody unless he has a change of heart. Estes really backed him into a corner. Even in the trailer for the next episode Saul told Carrie "You the smartest and dumbest person I've ever known" which I took as him telling Carrie that Brody is a marked man.

What do you think about this season in general? I enjoyed season one a lot more if I'm honest. This season has been good but there has been quite a few 'wtf' moments that have seemed a little silly.

As always, season 1 is the best. Rarely there are series where subsequent seasons trump the first one. Once Brody's secret was out, something was taken out of the show. I thought him getting caught or exposed would be the series finale, not already in 1st season finale. Also I fucking hate all the romance drama going on. It's torture watching Carrie mumbling about her feelings, it's very annoying. Finn and Dana are totally pointless I would gladly fast forward their scenes. Actually whenever people talk about feelings or some shit like that I feel uncomfortable and want to go away  All in all I think this show has been going downhill since the start of S2.

Can anyone tell me what's the point of Chris in this series? :wank2:

Just a likeable child playing videogames, watching basketball. There's no point to Walter Jr. in Breaking Bad either except for eating breakfast.

Also how the fuck did Nazir get in the states? Imagine Bin Laden simply shaving his face, cutting his hair and putting on jeans and getting on a plane to the States. Would not happen.

LOL every shows got to have a little romance. That's how they keep the female viewes interested! :clown:

Walt Jr is actually a good character by the way. He isn't as useless as Chris haha

I'll watch anything with Damian Lewis in it even if he is a ginger. :D Loved him in BoB, Life (canceled too soon), and Homeland. What I love about Homeland is it's a show I can watch with the spouse and even the teenage daughter. What a concept watch a show together that's not on the E network or MTV or produced by Ryan Seacrest.

Season 1 was a WTF kind of show. Just never knew what was coming.

Season 2 has been up (killing the tailor!!!!!!!!!!) and down. The acting top notch even if you wonder how a nutjob like Carrie can be in the CIA. But they say there's a little insanity/madness in genius. The spouse is convinced Brody isn't a terrorist and never was. Really? The daughter text shouts at me across the country "WTF! He's a terrorist!" Estes is a d-bag. Can't hate Quinn. Saul is the voice of reason. Walden was slimy. Carrie is crazy/smart/scary. Brody is a pathological liar but you still feel for him which says something for Lewis' acting. Dana is the reason why animals eat their young. Jess and Mike - may they live happily ever after as long as we don't have to see too much of it. Where's the conspirator vet? You know he doesn't trust Brody, rightfully so.

Last week's episode wasn't one of the stronger episodes. Hope the season finale ties up some loose strings and leaves us hanging for more.
