Born 1/6/93 in Camberley, Surrey

A midfielder who joined the Chelsea Academy from Reading at Under 13 age group, George is in his fourth full-time year having become a scholar in July 2009. He turned professional in July 2010.

He played 20 youth team matches in 2009/10 and was used as a sub in the FA Youth Cup campaign that season which ended with the trophy captured.

In 2010/11 he was the fourth highest appearance maker in the youth team and his improvement was rewarded with 10 reserve appearances, seven from the bench. He was in the starting 11 for the play-off final against Blackburn that Chelsea won to be crowned national reserve league champions.

A tall, competitive left-footer who reads the game very well and is good in possession, George played left-back as a schoolboy but can now fill in at centre-back. His older brother Jack is a former Chelsea youth team defender.

George signed a new three-and-a-half year contract in January 2012, committing himself to Chelsea until 2015.

The youngster made 17 appearances for the reserves during the 2011/12 season, and was part of a select group of younger players chosen to train with the first team towards the end of the season.

He was also a member of the squad which Dermot Drummy took to represent the club in the Hong Kong Sevens tournament at the end of the season, and went on the tour of the US with Roberto Di Matteo and the first team squad.

George is having an excellent season. Has really excelled in the defensive midfield role and has even weighed in with a couple of goals. Hope that soon (probably next season) we can find a good loan move for him and let him get games, i think he will do well on loan.

He's a very hard working player which is a great trait for young players to have. Think we have a good group of CMs at the club so hopefully a few can progress.

Decent player but I just don't see him making it into the Chelsea first team. He might end up like Sinclair or Jack Cork in terms of leaving Chelsea for a Championship level side..and then eventually getting the chance to play PL football at some point in his career.

I was really impressed with Saville in the Barcelona game. He is a tidy player, works very hard and has great energy. He has also got a decent shot on him scoring a few long range goals this season. I know everybody is more interested in the exciting players like Feruz, Boga etc but guys like Saville can become very useful senior squad members. We missed a trick with the likes of Cork so I hope we've learnt a lesson here.
