Juventus are Serie A champions.

They're doing well financially.

They're trying to bulk up on high quality players for their first time in the Champions League in a while. They want depth; which they lacked last season.

They will not be selling their #1 right-back. Absolutely no way.

I am swiss and i dont think he is not chelsea quality.. And i dont believe that juve would sell him. He is a crazy guy and really gets on youre nerves so i dont want him here. He is better than bos but is already 28 and will never be world class! He also tends to get a lot of yellow cards!

Had the same thought but apparently, they have changed the rule.

Dale Johnson@dalejohnsonESPN

Rules changed for Europa League and Champions League. No player can be cup-tied from any qualifying or play-off round (rule 18.07).

Dale Johnson@dalejohnsonESPN

@joetodd85 No, they have changed the rules. No cup-tie rule for any qualifying round from this year. Many unaware of the change of rule.

Well Juve signed Mauricio Isla this window, so it remains to be seen if Lichtsteiner will continue as their #1 right-back & anyway, everyone has their price.

It's a shame Juve got Isla though, I would've liked us to go for him.

I say we pass on him.

181 cm and 69 kg, he doesn't have the physique expected for most PL defenders. He could be bullied off the ball by physically imposing wingers. That and Juventus will charge an arm and a leg.

At least watch him before passing judgement. He was, by far, the best right back in Serie A last season and is absolutely CRUCIAL for Juve's play. Very solid at the back, attacks like a winger, and has a JT-like mentality.

I honestly rate him as one of the best RBs in the world, but we are more likely to sign Messi.
