He has played in a friendly against the USA, but hasn't been selected since then. Biggest reason in my opinion is that he was really needed with the U21 national team, while he would be nothing more than a (very good) substitute in the national team. Normally he will just not make the squad for the World Cup, but one or two injuries could do it for Thorgan to be in the squad. These are the players that might be selected and how i would rank them (the best players first).

GK: Courtois, Mignolet, Casteels

RB: Vandenborre, Meunier

CB; Kompany, Vertonghen, Vermaelen, Van Buyten, Alderweireld, Lombaerts

LB: Pocognoli

CM: Witsel, Dembele, Nainggolan, Fellaini, Defour -> Problem is Wilmots wants Timmy Simons to go for the atmosphere so one of these or an attacking midfielder won't make the squad.

AM: E. Hazard, De Bruyne, Chadli, Mirallas, Mertens, T. Hazard, Ferreira-Carrasco -> and off course Januzaj but it looks like he don't want to play

ST: Benteke, Lukaku, Batshuayi, Vossen

There are 30 names mentioned aboven and only 23 can be selected, so he's definetly not too far from the squad.

You have forgotten to add Kevin Mirallas to that list, he's also a excellent young winger.

Belgian really are loaded with some real talent, should be interesting to see them in the WC this year.

This morning in a reliable belgian newspaper: thorgan hazard is going to Anderlecht , deal is done.

In the 12 o'clock radio news: thorgan hazard is staying at Zulte ,Chelsea is verry pleased with the progress he made this season and besides that he has a contract with Zulte till the summer so he aint going nowhere.
