He wants to have better stats then last season.

In the end they will compare players to him and say hazard did not score or give assist as much as that player.

Buh, Zidane didn't score 20 goals per season and he's considered one of the best and most defining players ever. He got an awful shit-ass France into the WC final in 2006 and got them two titles before that.

Now, because we have Ronaldo and Messi in their prime, with the two best teams in the world playing for them, we see these two getting insane stats that have changed the level we rate players on. This doesn't mean you can't become a legend without being top scorer every season. Hazard just needs to keep playing his game and be important to the team.

So does Iniesta and Xavi but they got that from leading their team to CL titles, league titles, WC/Euros...etc. Hazard hasn't done any of them so he won't be considered a great or recognize without the stats to back him up.

No one say he can't become a legend. Btw the players of his quality like Reus, Ribery, Robben, Mueller...etc all got around double figures for goals and/or assists every season, so really now that has to be the minimum for him to be compared to them. People won't remember him for dribbling past 4 players then shot at the GK, they will talk about his through ball like Di Maria gave 1 to RVP today or that goal he scores which win us the game against a top team.

Well, Xavi and Iniesta are somewhat older than Hazard, so duh, they will have more titles playing for probably the best team of all time (Barca 2008-2012).

But talking about numbers: Hazard already won a French Title/Cup, a UEFA Cup and several individual honors at 23. He's been into double figures (League + Europe) since 2009, scoring 10, 12, 22, 13 and 17 goals. I have no info on the number of assists. Some of you guys act like he never scores a goal...

Robben never went into double figures for Chelsea, only for Bayern. Ribery does not score much more than Hazard, neither does Muller for Bayern. Also, how many more assists would Eden have had if Torres didn't blow half the perfect passes he gave him. I can remember at least three clearly from last season.

Did he played on the 10 in a more free roll? Only saw motd.

Sorry I just saw your quote

He played in the wing but he moved around on the dribble. He specifically dribbled towards the box at every chance,

he never slowed down the game or dribbled to less dangerous places and got about 3-4 Swansea players booked while they tried to stop him going into the box. He was directly involved with the 2nd and third goals, Infact this was a performance that can win a man of the match without scoring or assisting.

When he plays like dat and doesn't get man of the match it shows the calibre of our squad. He was really good when he was on the ball and looked much closer to his finished product, he looked polished. A big contrast to his game vs everton.

You're right about Zidane. But you need to be able to carry your team (at the highest level), win titles and more importantly, you need big moments in your career to achieve legendary status. Hazard doesn't have any of that. He's young of course but being that kind of player is not a given for ever the most talented players.

EDIT: That said, him reaching that kind of status is not important. He's a great player, just enjoy watching him play.

Thought he was scary good on Saturday, his driving runs and sheer quality on and off the ball was sublime.

Was really suprised by his off the ball movement. We all know he's excellent at beating players but now he was combining that with some great off the ball movement.

I mean normally he just comes towards the ball but now there were multiple times where he was making off the ball runs, trying to get in behind the Swansea defence.

He also seemed a lot more eager to shoot at goal.

Been looking at that Hazard vs Swansea video and he could have easily gotten 2 goals (maybe even 3) if he had taken his shots a bit better and had a little bit more luck with them.
