Eden Hazard

Come on.... Hazard wasn't better than bale last year, no matter how blue your glasses are.

Last year:

Hazard: 9 goals 16 assists = contributed to 25 goals.

Bale : 21 goals 8 assists = contributed to 29 goals.

Now going soley by the stats Bale did have a more productive season than Hazard.(not that much though ,4 goals)

However when you take into account that

-this was Hazard's first season while it was Bale's 6th season in the PL.

-Hazard was overused due to inadequate squaddepth

-Hazard had to share the ball with Mata and Oscar while dealing with Torres up front

-Hazard is 2 years younger than Bale

You start realizing that Hazard actually already is a better player then Bale.

Also i've reread Stingray's post. Nowhere does it say that he thinks Hazard was better than Bale last year.

He only said that he was glad that we got Hazard and that he thought Bale was getting to much credit and (wrongfully) being put on a higher platform.

And he's right. I mean some people rate Bale as the third best player in the world but there's only a 4 goal contribution difference between him and Hazard.

If Bale stays in the PL Hazard will overtake him, this year, in goals contributed, i'd put money on it. Hazard is the better player.

I'm sure if Hazard was playing for Spurs, United or any of the English media's favorite team, they will likely to be raving about him being the 3rd best player in the world right now. Bale was good last season but not that great like the media and proposterious transfer fee quoted for him is suggesting!

Man, do you keep an eye on Divock Origi ? Future beast that player from what i've seen as a LOSC fan (don't know how he does in belgium youth teams ?)

Great article about this great prospect from the best french football journalist of the moment (specialist of African player, Origi is half Kenyan) here , in which he shows great mentality. One quote that says all about the lad :

"Mon père ma toujours dit de ne pas prendre en compte largent mais le projet sportif et, à Lille, je ne peux que progresser. Hazard en est dailleurs un parfait exemple. »

Translation : My father always told not to make money a priority, but make the choices a real lover of sport would, and in Lille i can only but progress. Hazard is the perfect example.

Ow thats Mike Origi's kid! He came from the Genk Academy, right? No I don't follow him ... Is he that good?

Ps: thanks for the article. I will keep an eye on the kid if he plays.

He's been in the starting team in 4 of the 5 LOSC friendly games in a 4-4-2 diamond, up front associated with Salomon Kalou (which is excellent as a striker). He scored 3 beautiful goals and created many more chances. He is expected to be on the starting eleven for the first Ligue 1 home match against Lorient this saturday, you should check it ;)

Maybe it's just because its preseason, but I hate how he doesn't immediately sprint at defenders and attack. It's like he uses his incredible dribbling and technical ability only in a reactive way. He'll wait until he's closed down or in danger of getting tackled before he explodes and flies past defenders.

Most of the time he gets the ball in a 1 on 1 situation he's at walking pace and passes it away. You watched the master CR7 yesterday get the ball and instantly burst at his defender and blaze past him with skill. Hazard needs to be doing that more often. God knows he has the talent.

He's not CR7 or Gareth Bale. CR7 is a bigger athlete, can head into the box easily with his height, not easy to lean on his shoulder.

He should improve his finishing, trying more finesse, chip and not be afraid that sometimes it won't work and look ridiculous.

He should perhaps do it more but what you say has not only weak points. Beside we have Schurrle, Moses who can do that.

Doing that, Ramires, Schurrle, Moses or Cole can run into spaces that defenders closing leave. Like Debruyne cross to Ivanovic against Inter.

Eden's performance against Real

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MTdGIX2wCo0

He didn't seem as sluggish as he was against AC/Inter and he played much better than I expected according to what I heard around here

They were horribly physical on him, all game. Tugging his shirt blatantly at times, to me it was a disgrace, I tell you.

Bloody REAL vermin has got to learn to play by the rules, both on ànd off the pitch.

He looks a lot sharper in those highlights than he has done and a tad more svelte. His close control is truly exceptional and his vision is astounding at points, it's just the execution is off by a couple of centimetres which you'd expect in pre-season.

Madrid clearly looked to stop him before he got going and he should've had a penalty, but it was encouraging to see him step up his performance. Seems to be on track for a storming start against Hull.
