Ramos might be average defender but his character and fighting performances in CL games (for example last year Bvb or this year finale), he was the reason Real made better.

Luiz might not have as much quality; but he has character and that wins you big games. Ronaldo did nothing in final, yet he is best player in world. Ramos saved their asses. That kind if impact Luiz has too.

Wrong, we have Terry and Ivan.

Ivan goal against Napoli, against Benfica last minute EL final. That's character as well.

• His performance against PSG in the CL semis this season.

Yet some will still believe he was only well liked by the fans because of his shenanigans on Twitter.

David Luiz was sold because a laughable club like PSG shoved 50M in our faces for a player that cannot defend consistently nor can he play in the midfield despite people claiming under Rafa that, that position was made for him. JT coming out and saying he has potential to be club captain means jack shit if he cannot be consistent in the role he was played in, and please don't tell me he was consistent, had he been he'd still be here now. Jose saw the cracks in his game, fucking air head moments of calamity defending, racing out defence trying to be the dictator....first rule of thumb for a defender is defend, let the midfield carriers, carry, but Luiz found that hard to grasp, as a result he has now gone, we just got a stupid price.

Your writing that post as if I am unappreciative of what Luiz has done at the club. I posted only yesterday that I appreciate what he did at times in his Chelsea career and wish him all the success in his new venture. As a defender I didn't rate him, I didn't rate him as a midfielder either, am I gutted he has gone? No, what we do from here is we use the cash to by the player/s that we need, it wasn't MataFC it wasn't LuizFC and with the board and finances we have right now I am more confident than ever that this club is going in the right direction.

When he joins PSG I hope he takes a long hard look at exactly how JT and Cahill have performed this last season, he could learn a lot.

We got big money for him, but I will never forget his heroics in CL! Or his goal vs United.

He is amazing person and wish him best wherever he goes. Im sure Chelsea will be in his heart forever.

This guy is extremely marketable...appearing in every commercial hah. He was realy a big public figure of Chelsea club...we will have to find new one.

However I was thinking...IF brazil wins cup, with Luiz playing big role, Im sure Mou was one who couldnt fit Luiz in team and not Luiz who couldnt upgrade his game. If he can play on top level with brazil (they play similar football to us; counter attacks with lot of defending), I dont see how he couldnt perform here...and Mou didnt manage to make Luiz play best.

I don't know how anyone who watched the CL final can claim that Luiz doesn't have 'character'/'personality' or only shows his personality on instagram. Just because he has been sold doesn't mean you now have to demean everything he's done for the club - and claiming those things IS demeaning his contributions to the club - you can choose to focus on the selfies but then that's your problem.
